Perfect way to spend first evening in KL

I loved trying the 5 different fruits from a fruit stand. Hairy fruit was my favorite and definitely never seen it in the US before. Sam was an excellent guide. This tour gives a full immersion into Malaysian culture and food.

So much food to try! There was also a good pace to the tour, though 4 hours went by quickly! Plus, you might even pick up some new cooking skills. Sam was a great guide, eager to share not just Malay food with us, but Malay culture and history too. Highly recommend.

Fun and fascinating tour of KL local foodie spots

Sam was a brilliant guide showing us lots of great little places we would never have known to visit otherwise. The food was delicious and Sam generously shared lots of interesting info not just about the food but also about Malay culture and history. Also very well-organised - all the places are checked by the operator for hygiene standards etc so no worries there, and are thoughtfully chosen to specifically support small, independent restaurants/stalls. Fun and interesting and a highlight of our KL trip! Go hungry!

This has been a great opportunity to learn about the Malaysian cuisine and history. I didn’t have very long to sightsee in KL but I am so glad that I decided to go on this tour! Stephen was an awesome guide through the whole trip! We stopped at so many places and had the opportunity to try SO many different foods. Stephen had a great knowledge about the city and the food we were eating, and did a great job engaging with the whole group for the entire 4 hours. I loved Kiran's food tour so much that I sent three more people to her and they all had the same great experience. This was not just a food tour but a tour of neighborgoods and an introduction to the Malaysian culture. We got to see the twin towers up close and go on this beautiful bridge. Kiran is a welath of knowlege and she delivers it with so much enthusiasm that it's contagious. We were introduced to the most delicious food. I liked the build-up of how Kiran introduced the food. We even got to see how each meal was prepared. I also liked that she gave us access to the chefs/cooks so we could visit each eating spot even after the tour. I usually get sick after eating street food in most countries, even the USA, but that was not the case with this food tour. The walking was wonderful because it helped us to work up our appettites and it was broken out between food stops, so I didn't get tired. I was pleasantly full after the tour. This is one of the best food tours I have ever had and I highly recommedn that anyone traveling to KL do it.

We tried so many different dishes and all from local small business owners. Our fantastic guide, Steve, made sure everyone in our group learned a little bit about each of the dishes we tried, shared some background about the businesses we visited, and of course kept the food coming. With all of the different dishes we tried, it was hard to remember everything, but Steve sent us a list with the food names and locations just in case we wanted to go back and have some more later.
