What To Expect

After pickup in Kuala Lumpur, your day trip starts with the drive to Malacca City, where you first visit Stadthuys, a remnant of the city’s Dutch history built in 1650.

Next, visit the ruins of A Famosa, a Portuguese fortress and one of the oldest remains of European architecture in the region.

Then, head up to St. Paul’s Hill for a view of the city and to see St. Paul’s Church, which dates back to 1521, making it one of the oldest churches in Southeast Asia.

Take a break for lunch (own expense) before continuing your tour to Jonker Street, located in Chinatown and known for its abundant shopping opportunities. Browse antique shops and craft outlets for gifts and souvenirs, and perhaps try a dessert known as chendol, shaved ice with red beans, coconut milk, palm sugar, and green jelly.

Finally, make a stop at Cheng Hoon Teng, a Chinese temple that practices three doctrines: Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. Your day trip then ends with the drive back to Kuala Lumpur.

We love Malacca

We had a wonderful day trip from KL to Malacca with our guide Vera. He was knowledgeable and cooperative. He explained the history of Malacca in the Malacca Museum and made the tour a memorable experience for us. He also took us to the Mosque of the Malacca Straight. Would not hesitate to recommend this private tour to those who have limited time in KL.

Malacca historical private tour with chauffeur Julie from Kalang Port is a couple of hours drive each way. The attraction and sites to see are very educational. Museums are air conditioned for comfort overlooking the city centre rooftops giving you an idea of past history of other buildings in the area. Walking through Chinatown to have lunch at an authentic Malay restaurant with a Chinese influence. A Must for visitors to do, just down a side street. Try the wares, and shop to your heats content. Julie was full of information relating to the history of her people.

This tour would have been so much better with the right guide. Our guide was very timid and soft spoken with a thick Indian accent. He was very hard to hear and understand. He knew nothing of the church we visited and had never been to the mosque he took us to. We loved the town of Malacca but learned very little from our guide.

The tour operator was uncooperative when I had to update my tour return to direct it to the airport. The airport was closer than my final return destination.I traveled with other tour operators during my stay who were extremely cooperative with change in schedule. To add to it he asked me to pay an extra 25 USD(with no receipt provided) and not the local currency with change in route although it was saving the return trip an hour of driving. I would really like viator to review such uncooperative behavior.

Patrick was very nice, often forgot about the passengers and that the van was very bumpy and stop and go traffic made it worse. It was very hot and humid and the absolute slowest walk possible around the city. Patrick was very knowledgeable but didn't understand how uncomfortable we were. Spent the majority of the time in Melaka in the Hard Rock Cafe as that was the ONLY place that had air conditioning.

I booked an all day tour through Viator with local company Tripmakers Online Enterprise. Nanthe was my Chauffeur/Guide. Nanthe accompanied me throughout the exploration of Malacca. He was knowledgeable about Malacca, its history and architecture. Nanthe was personable, engaged in intelligent conversation, kind and patient.. Nanthe was an excellent guide.I was introduced to Malacca in the best possible way with Nanthe as my guide. Aditionally, he introduce me to how rubber is harvested and to the importance of palm oil in the economy of Malaysia.

This tour actually was kind boring. Yes, it is full of cultural information, Ganesh was our driver, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about Malacca, but I expected more. The tour is about 3 hours and we spent 4hrs in the car :/ Also there were a lot of places that were a must to see but didn’t.

The malacca trip was a long one but enjoyed it with the help of Ganesh, our driver/tour guide. He knows the history of Malacca well and we learned a lot fom him. One more thing he drove us to Putrajaya on our way for some photo shoots even it is not included in our itinerary. It was a good thing coz my sis-in-law has been telling me to visit the place but we got no more time since it was our last day, so thru Ganesh -wish was granted.

Our day trip to Malaca could not have gone any smoother. The guide picked us up right on time in a brand new private car for just the three of us. Ganesh was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about Malaca and Malaysia overall. It was a pleasure listening to him and he did not mind answering all the questions we had. Malaca itself is a cute little town and I wish we had more time to explore. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely use the same agency again and try to get Ganesh as out guide.

We enjoyed this all day private tour to Malacca. Hotel pick-up was on time in a small sedan. Drive to Malacca took two hours, enjoyed seeing the countryside on the drive. Visited many historic sites, including old Portuguese settlement area, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, St Pauls Church, Kampung Kling Mosque and Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi Temple. Lunch was on our own, we only wish we had more time to wander around Jonker Street and the Stadthuys area. Guide was informative and provided great commentary. Tour was taken April 3, 2017.

Wir möchten uns bei unserem Fahrer bedanken. Er war pünktlich, freundlich und konnte auch als Tourguide gut agieren. Die Tour nach Malaka dauerte 9 Stunden, die Fahrt von Kuala Kumpur ist auch weit, jedoch hat es sich gelohnt. Die Festung, die historische Altstadt und die Stadt gesamt sehr sehenswert. Besonders erstaunt hat uns, dass wirklich tolle chinesische Viertel, super für Shopping. Danke an unseren tollen Fahrer für all diese individuellen Momente.
