I’d recommend this tour! My friend and I only had 2 days in la Fortuna and this gets a lot of the “big” sights in one day. It’s a long-ish day but not particularly strenuous. - The hanging bridges were cool and I just personally, love being in the jungle :). There’s paved paths in this part and lots of tourists, but you’ll be one of them, so embrace it! - the waterfall was cool and massive. The viewpoint before you walk down is beautiful too. We chose not to swim because it has gotten a little chilly/rainy. Tons of steps but wasn’t too bad, saw plenty of older people doing it. Best part was having lunch here, it was delicious. - the volcano hike was my favorite part. You can’t go to the crater of the volcano (no one can) but you get to a nice viewpoint. Really not a strenuous hike but I’m a fairly fit 35 y/o. -Kenya was such a kind and knowledgeable guide, I’d highly suggest her! One thing that could have been better was a prep list of what to bring or wear. My friend and I were wearing shorts, had brought bathing suits, and chaco sandals for water and light hiking just based on the tour description. Turns out no one really knew what to bring (a couple didn’t realize they’d need a bathing suit/that the waterfall was swim-able), we didn’t think to wear closed toed shoes etc. (chacos are meant to be hiked in for moderate hikes so we thought this would be perfect for a tour that involved water and hiking) they really need to give you a better idea of what to bring. Last thing is that you should definitely book a tour in this area. A friend was there before and tried to do a self-tour and did not have a good experience. I recommend this tour as an option!!

All the experience was amazing! Kenya thank you so much for all the moments you create for us! For be patient, put so much commitment and passion on this tour, we have so much fun! Get so much knowledge, and so great moments! Recommended!
Awesome Excursion!

This excursion was so much fun! Kenya was our guide and she was amazing - so knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. She also double checked to make sure we had everything we need for the day before we left. Definitely wear good hiking shoes and bring a poncho. We got to see awesome wildlife thanks to Kenya’s keen eye. The lunch was good - a large plate of casado. I got the fish option (tilapia) which was great. Would absolutely recommend!

An interesting mix of 5 and 1 stars. The great, all 5 stars: Mario our guide was outstanding. Mauricio our driver was great. The hanging bridges of Mistico were our favorite in CR. The waterfall was a blast, but I highly recommend you stretch first. Our calves were sore for days! The volcano hike had great views. The whole thing was family friendly. The not so great: Pickup was a few minutes late, then we had to wait on the side of the road for a taxi bringing a woman they forgot to pickup earlier. The excursion says it has cold bottled water and snacks were included, so we didn't bring. The tour operator forgot to put the water on the bus so we had to buy our own. They looked at us like we were crazy when we asked about the snacks. None. Most of the tours seemed to cap at 10 people. We assumed that would be the case here as well since the listing described transport by air-conditioned minivan. Transport was by bus and there were 20 of us. The numbers were annoying at Mistico, but not such a big deal for the waterfall or volcano. We thought the numbers were shrinking since some folks only purchased the early part of the tour, but they picked more people up along the way. Conclusion? Definitely do the activities (though maybe over 2 days, not 1). If you can find a way to get Mario as your guide, do it. This tour operator? Maybe not perfect.
Perfect way to see most of La Fortuna in one tour

Awesome, comprehensive tour with guide Kenia! Our tour experience did start a bit rocky because they let us know less than 24 hours in advance that they could not pick us up at the hotel (although its in the tour description / they could have reached out earlier). We were able to get picked up for a $30 extra charge, but on a positive note the ride arrangement was very seamless. We first went to Mistico hanging bridges where Kenia spotted cool wildlife like anteaters and birds for us. She was very knowledgeable and lovely and we highly recommend her. Then, we went to eat casado (actually our favorite casado experience in CR). After, we went to the Arenal waterfall where Kenia watched our stuff and we were able to take a dip. Finally, we hiked the Lava Trails which was the perfect magical end to the tour (actually the true end was the delicious pineapples we got to munch on). Super professional and well coordinated tour, everything went very smoothly

Constant rain and poor visibility of volcano. Tour probably good on better weather day. Tour guide Mario was great and did the best he could with the bad weather

Our guide Mario was AMAZING and truly made this tour so personable! He was so patient, knowledgeable, kind, funny and brought the whole thing to life! The tour was beautiful and we were really able to take in the nature in the most natural way (as it should be). Mario knew all the spots to spot the best wildlife including sloths, birds, and even monkeys in their natural habitat. Such a fun time! Thank you for everything! Highly recommend!
Great tour from La Fortuna!

Glad we went early to the Mistico Hanging Bridges! The La Fortuna Waterfall was beautiful. Only enough time to dip into the water, take a photo, then return 500 steps to the top. The hike to Arenal Volcano is steep. Max is a knowledgeable tour guide and Donis a great driver!

Great experience in Mistico Hanging Bridges and Fortuna's Waterfall. Do not recommend the volcano hike in cloudy days, especially if you have limited time in Fortuna. We had 3 cloudy days in La Fortuna, did the hike and did not see the volcano.
La Fortuna in One Day!
Nick_L, Nov 2023
If you do ONE thing in La Fortuna, make it this one. This excursion was everything we wanted it to be. My wife and I are in Costa Rica on our honeymoon and have been trying to get the most of our time in La Fortuna. There were many places we wanted to visit while staying in town, and this excursion knocked out a couple of them in one day. Granted, it’s a long day but trust us it’s worth it. The company that picked us up (Seven Tours) happened to be located very close to our Airbnb which was an added bonus. While the attraction said up to 10 people, we got lucky and only had another couple with us on the excursion. This definitely made the tour more personal and I feel that we got more out of it. While you can definitely do all of these attractions on your own, having a guide (and a ride) that is passionate and excited about the experiences is so much better. The Mistico Hanging Bridges were great, it wasn’t too crowded which was a bonus. Pretty low impact first “hike” which made it the perfect start to the long day. After that we ventured off to the La Fortuna waterfall. The walk down to the waterfall isn’t too bad (my wife and I are pretty active and in our early 20’s) but the walk back up was a little tougher. Once at the bottom you have the opportunity to get in the water with two choices. Brave the rocks on the right and swim near the waterfall or go to the left and relax in the water further away. We did both and you should do! The waterfall section is a little tougher to get to (slippery rocks and cold water) but definitely worth it. There is nothing like being that close to a waterfall. We stopped after that in the little town we had set up shop for the week and got an authentic Costa Rican lunch (and some well-earned beer.) We then headed to the volcano hike, probably the most strenuous (still pretty low impact) hike of the day. We got lucky and had a very beautiful day throughout, we finally got some rain on the way up to the volcano but honestly that was the time for it (and it made for some pretty great pictures and videos.) While it was a long day, this tour will be the most fulfilling (and long) day of your time in La Fortuna. Our guide was Kenya and we couldn’t have gotten luckier with her. She was so knowledgeable and would be quick to stop a hike to share a fact or point out some wildlife. On top of that, she was very excited about everything we were doing. While she was clearly a pro, you would have thought she was experiencing it for the first time with us. HIGHLY recommend a tour with Kenya, no matter what it is.
Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved our guide, Kenya! She's so knowledgeable and has a great eye for spotting animals in the jungle. Overall we had a great experience, definitely recommend! Bring your swim shoes for the waterfall!
Walking shoes are a must
Katrina_Z, Aug 2023
Roy was a hilarious guide, able to spot a ton of creatures on the tour, and he had plenty of fun facts. Would highly recommend this tour!! Don’t forget to bring your walking shoes
Perfect Tour

Kenya was a fantastic tour guide! We had a full day seeing the best parts of Arenal. The lunch in town was amazing!
Awesome day tour
Natalie_D, Jul 2023
We had the best guide! Kenya was fabulous! She shared lots of information about animals and vegetation and was fun and engaging. We lived that she was easy to talk to and answered our questions and curiosities. Our family loved each part of the tour…definitely recommend (and request Kenya!)
Hanging bridges+la fortuna waterfall+arenal volcano hike=fun!
Tavon_P, Jul 2023
Wonderful experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the terrain we covered and all the creatures we happened to come across. It didn't rain until the very end so we we're lucky but definitely pack an umbrella or Pancho.
Terrific Trio Tour
Stacy_F, Jul 2023
Roy was a phenomenal tour guide with the most awesome camera. He was so knowledgeable about each stop we made along the way. I highly recommend a tour guide when exploring these location and Roy is the best! Bring a change of swimming clothes to explore La Fortuna Falls but other than that, wearing hiking/comfy shoes and clothes.
Great experience at hanging bridges
casey_z, Jun 2023
Had a great experience with Roy from Seven Tours Costa Rica. Although you can do these three things without a guide, I would not have learned as much and definitely would not have seen any animals (besides the monkeys that jumped out at us on the hanging bridges) without him. He was knowledgeable, passionate, and cared about our experience. I went on other tours throughout Costa Rica and Roy was hands down the best guide with the hanging bridges being the best experience. I also recommend to other solo travelers who want to connect with people and not hike out alone.
Amazing adventurous day tour!
Sumer_S, Jun 2023
Excellent and all-inclusive tour! Our guides Kenya and Mario were both amazingly knowledgeable and had great senses of humor. The day started with a hike to Arenal and we got to see an anteater close up! Kenya even offered to take group pictures of us with our families. The second part of the trip we went to La Fortuna waterfall which we got to swim in! So cool and refreshing. Warning, there are 500 steps to go down and then up, and after the hike near Arenal my knees were on fire! So if you have knee problems, maybe take a shorter tour. Also, note that you should absolutely pack a towel, bug spray, sunscreen, a bathing suit and closed toe sneakers or hiking sandals. You will have the chance to change into a swimsuit prior to the hike down to the waterfall and back into clothing before the next part of the trip. The last part is the mistic hanging bridges and that was about 2 more hours of walking through the rainforest. Definitely a longgggg exhausting day but worth every minute! And you get to see the top tourist attractions with minimal effort!! Amazing! Thank you Kenya and Mario!!
Good arrangements and fun tour
Ling_S, May 2023
On the tour the guide was nice and knowledgeable. The lunch was unexpected good. I would gave 5 star if the van picked us on time.
Costa Rican Bucket List Adventure!
Stephanie_S, Apr 2023
My family and I had a full day of Costa Rican fun with an awesome guide and driver! We also met lots of fun people to share this bucket list adventure with!
The best way to see it all in one day!
Chelsey_P, Apr 2023
Worth every penny! Kenya, our guide, was wonderful and we saw and learned about so many creatures and plants that we would have missed on our own. It was also quite nice to share our tour with a small group from around the world. Don't forget water shoes! Also, the waterfall is good for photos but the better swimming is in the lower pool to the left where there are fewer rocks and the water is calmer.
