Fantastic hike. Santiago was our guide, he went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. The night in the cabin is magical. Hike was intense but totally recommend if you wanna enjoy the true beat of the rainforest.

Amazing!!!

This was my best experience in Costa Rica! Our guide Errol was wonderful, and he showed us a nice spot to swim in the river in the first day, which was amazing. The cabin was so rustic and cute. The hikes were definitely challenging and uphill and hot, but so worth it! Don’t do this if you’re not willing to help out or stay in a very remote and rustic location.

You’ll remember what it is to be human again. This is as close as you’ll get to true presence in paradise. Our guide, Christian, is a great human being and very knowledgeable. You will learn a lot about the jungle and the history of Costa Rica. I also met some great people. Pura Vida

Had a great time on this hike! It definitely is a tough hike especially on the first day (13km of lots of hot and humid uphill through muddy jungle and heavy bags) but the views, animals, cabin and sunrise were so worth it. You definitely want to be in decent shape for this one! The second day is easier only 7km and lighter bags but still some steep uphill. Our guide Errol spoke great English and taught us loads about the local wildlife. We saw spider monkeys, hummingbirds, all sorts. Few things to note: They give you extra food to carry so save a bit of space in your bag. Pack bug spray, sun cream, a hat, 2L water, waterproofs and water shoes for the river crossings (there are two and one was hard work because the water level was up to our waists!!). Also worth bringing a spare t-shirt to use as a pillowcase. Suggest packing some high energy snacks. The cabin is super rustic, it has an outdoor long-drop toilet and little light, a running hose to wash if you want, and simple mattresses with sleeping bags. The view is amazing and the owner is the sweetest man who is a great cook. 10/10 would recommend, a proper adventure!

Absolutely incredible way to experience rainforest in Costa Rica! Guides were very knowledgeable and fun. Sleeping and showering conditions were very primitive but it’s a great part of the experience. Incredible views too. Bring binoculars for animal siting!

We loved this trip. The hike was quite tough in places for me (I'm 58, used to hiking and relatively fit) but a walk in the park for my son who is 24 and very active. Carlos our guide was really friendly and mindful of my pace so made regular stops particularly after the steep climbs. We loved the jungle hut and overall had a very memorable experience.

a once and a life time experience, unsure if would do again. VIATOR did not provide very many details re: what to expect. i.e. there was a river crossing (could have brought water proof bags or different shoes for same). Not clear that there was going to be pick up of additional baggage and drop off in another town/receiving facility. wasn't clear that we were responsible for carrying some food. tour guide chris was okay, very friendly and informative guide but not very attentive to hikers pace
