Not worth the price

This ride was not worth $180. They pulled up to the pickup site in a regular vehicle, nothing extravagant (nothing worth $180). The driver also did not speak English. The driver provided wine but It was nasty and the driver kept the bottle. There was also no snacks provided. Please do not use this company. See if the hotel you’re staying at has a shuttle. This experience was not worth the price. Find a cheaper alternative.

We were fortunate enough to have Junior as our driver upon our arrival in Liberia and on our return from Tamarindo. He was personable and good driver. We felt safe during our rides and I highly recommend this transportation company.

The company is great, drivers are friendly and professional. They messaged me two days prior to confirm, showed up early and got us to airport on time. My only reason for giving a 4 star rather than 5, is because the vehicle used to take us back to airport was not the same quality as when we were picked uo from airport. The transmission was going out. It was so bad the driver had to pull off the road a couple times to work some magic to get us going again. Not a good look in a transportation company. I would use them again, but only after I confirm I won't be picked up in that vehicle.

Our driver Hugo was excellent! This is my first time using a driver service and was a little nervous. Would we find our driver? Would we be safe? All that for nothing. Hugo was waiting for us right outside, my name on a little sign. From the second I saw him I knew we would be ok. Super friendly, knowledgable about the areas we passed though, professional. My partner was suprised at the quality of the vehicle we were picked up, vety nice...and the ice cold beer of course. Icing on the cake. Very pleased with this company.

Could not ask for my Moses was waiting for us at Arrivals. He made the call and the car was driven around to the door, l we all climbed inv and were presented with cold water and cold beer. The car was comfortable and Moses provided a great introduction to our holidays. Welcome to Costa Rica !

The driver of the shuttle...

The driver of the shuttle was driving the vehicle extremely fast and erratic. So much so that he did get pulled over by a police officer we are grateful we had transportation to our hotel, after a plane change, however, it was the longest four hours of our lives. There were many opportunities for hitting people, other cars and other structures in the road, which was quite fearful, and caused a lot of anxiety.

Dear Carey, Thank you for your review and apologies for the inconveniences you may have experienced. As the owner of the company I would like to follow up your case and make sure everyone in your group did took use our services since honestly, in 25 years of doing this we have never had that feedback and after even checking you Arrival Vehicle Speed Records on our GPS Tracker System we didn’t find any moment that the driver was over-speeding or even going at any speed above 85 km/ph. The reason I’m asking you to make sure everyone in the group did use our services is because you had a last minute change that day (due to lots of snow at the US) which made you arrive to a different Costa Rican Airport that was 5 Hrs instead of 1 Hr away from your destination and I can’t see on my records how many people ended up arriving and using our services after the Airport Change. Please be so kind to reach me at operations@transfers506.com I am confident I will be able to provide a resolution, this is what makes us truly different!

Hi Daniel, Thank you for taking the time to express your feedback. We are sorry about the problem with your arrival regarding your request to have a female driver and a Deluxe SUV but we were very clear we would do all we could to complete your request (you booked 16 hours prior arriving) but the driver’s name could change since we have flight delays sometimes making us have to send different 506 drivers/vehicles in order to take all our clients immediately to their hotels. I would also like to point out you also sent us a message the day before arriving Costa Rica asking us to please have a ”quiet and peaceful arrival transfer” so we proceeded to add as a note to the driver to please follow those instructions to avoid any complaints so that was most likely the reason the driver didn’t talked much. This is the BEST way to go. This tour group 506 is the BEST hands down. I travel a lot and this was the best group ever very helpful. They even stopped and got some local fruit for us to taste.
