What To Expect

Board your elegant 161-foot motor yacht at Pier 7, located near Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne. You’ll spend 1 hour on a panoramic sightseeing cruise around Lake Lucerne, departing in the morning, afternoon or evening.

While your captain steers along what is arguably Switzerland’s most stunning lake, sit back and relax on the main deck, where you can purchase drinks and snacks from the onboard bar. Take in the fresh breeze and mist on the lake-level terrace at the rear of the boat, or settle into the custom-designed furniture on the yacht’s upper deck, which features a sliding roof for optimal viewing.

Referred to as the heart of Switzerland, the 44-square-mile (114-sq-km) lake is bordered on all sides by mountain scenery that will take your breath away. Listen to audio commentary through a smartphone app to learn about historical monuments, places of interest, and the four surrounding cantons: Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden, marked by fertile valleys, forested slopes, and steep Alpine peaks. When your cruise concludes, you’ll arrive back at Pier 7.

If you do not have local phone service to use the app to hear the tour, they have boat WiFi. Also headsets available. I wish I’d realized it before cruise was over. Great time with beautiful views of Lake Lucerne and Alps!! Definitely a great time

Short boat ride

Short boat ride on a small portion of the lake. Everything you see here can really be seen from the shore. There were headphones available for a narrative of the tour but we were never told about them and only discovered them half way through the tour. They should be handing these out as you board with an explanation so you know they are available. Not worth the money in my opinion. There are much better options.

Thanks for sharing your feedback! The one hour cruise in the bay of the lake lucerne is a roundtrip we recommend if you're short in time and still want to enjoy a pretty view. On the description of the tour is written that there will be headphones on board. But you're right, it is an idea to point out the headphones in the beginning. For another time we are available 7 days a week by phone and email for expert advice.

Simple and enjoyable cruise around the lake on a very nice vessel. Plenty of outdoor seating (most unshaded) and some indoor seating with a cafe for food and drink to purchase. Tour uses headphones and many languages are available but the information provided is basic.

After waiting in line forever, workers came out and said boat was broken. As everyone started to leave, they said nevermind and boarded everyone- even those without tickets. The views were beautiful but without commentary it was a disappointing. Not to mention, I paid almost $70 for two of us and many others rode free.

The views were spectacular. The water is beautiful as are the mountains. We were never told about any listening devices to hear the history or the area - different houses/castles etc. the man at the ticket booth was very unhelpful and when i asked about the earphones, he said they had them on the boat and all we had to do was plug it in. none of that happened. also, we were hoping to get a glass of wine, that didn't happen either. the water and area are beautiful but i would probably recommend a different boat.
