Very Poor

BEEARE! We started out from Lucerne via Interlaken and Grindelwald. We were advised on the way that it was too windy to go up to mountain and that we would just spend a few hours in Grindelwald instead. Very weak tour guide only offered 50% refund. Still haven’t seen the money. Book with anyone other than Viator
Amazing tour to the Top of Europe!

Exploring the ice caves in the glacier and viewing the mountains from the Sphinx. The descriptions of the area on the bus by our guides, Sophie and Yuxia were outstanding!

Marianne our tour guide was excellent! She made sure everyone understood her, gave clear instructions during tour, and handled a slight dispute between two passengers.

Amazing views, and great way to see the sights of Switzerland. Well run, and while we would have liked more time, we appreciated the schedule and experiences of the trip. The Top of Europe is a must see!
"Best of Switzerland" -- Feedback

1. Communication a bit confusing until leaving Interlaken. Interlaken 30 minute stop a bit of a waste of time. No need to announce Interlaken activities, shops, purchase coupons/discounts, etc. if no time to take advantage. 2. Gallos was an excellent guide. 3. Gallos' second guide (Ping?) needs to be careful what she says. She was guiding a Chinese group and was heard saying, "she hoped no Americans in her group". This might get misinterpreted by travelers with thin skin. We took it such that she didn't want to explain things twice; however, others may not. 4. Bus extremely hot and travelers told no drinks on bus.

Dear Brett, Thank you very much for joining our full-day tour to Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe and leaving this review. We are very sorry to hear about the negative experiences you had with us. As Interlaken is conveniently located along the journey, we include it as a stop in the itinerary to provide our guests with a break from the 2 ½ hour journey from Zurich/Lucerne. This gives them the chance to stretch their legs, grab a snack or drink and explore the village. Unfortunately, the time restriction doesn’t allow to go big shopping or to see the entire town. We are sorry if your tour guide gave you the wrong information and we’ll certainly inform them to adapt their commentary. We sincerely apologize on behalf of your guide Ping for any discomfort or misunderstanding caused by her comment. After following up on your feedback with her, she has reassured us that it was by no means her intention to offend Americans. We understand that such remarks can be misinterpreted, thus we have already spoken with her to remind her of the importance of cultural sensitivity. All our buses are equipped with air conditioning but unfortunately, it is forbidden by law to run the engine, and thus the air conditioning, while the bus is stationary. This also means that the bus inevitably warms up during the stop in Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen. While food and open beverages are not allowed on the bus due to the policy of the bus company, water, and bottled beverages should however not have been a problem. We have addressed this topic with our bus drivers to ensure that such miscommunications do not happen again in the future. Once again, we apologize for any inconveniences you encountered, and we thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. We are happy to hear that you found our main guide to be excellent and hope you could enjoy the overall experience of the Jungfraujoch. Kind regards, Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours
Definitely do this!
Curtis_W, Jul 2023
This is a MUST DO! The guides did an awesome job of keeping everyone together and explaining the landmarks. The trip itself was amazing! You get priority access and the group gets its own train car- you will appreciate that when you see the hundreds of visitors there.
Waste of money
Cheryl_N, Jul 2023
Not worth the $940.00 I spent. Very crowded, the bus was full when we got on and no one would move for us to sit together. We got separated from the group and had to spend additional money to buy our own train tickets to Interlaken. The guide didn’t even care. He didn’t ask us what happened or apologize for miscommunication. I would NOT recommend this trip. It is incredibly over priced!!!
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Dear Cheryl, Thank you very much for participating in our Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe tour and sharing your experience with us. Jungfraujoch is one of the most famous attractions in Switzerland. Especially during summertime, many people, including locals, opt to visit this destination. This can cause crowds and waiting times in train stations, restaurants, and viewing platforms. For this reason, it is extremely important that all guests listen carefully to the instructions given by the tour guide and ask again if anything is unclear. Unfortunately, you were the only guests that got separated from the whole group. Whereas the planned itinerary is to descend via Lauterbrunnen by train, you took the cable car and descended to Grindelwald Terminal again. The group continued by bus from Lauterbrunnen directly to Interlaken without passing through Grindelwald. In situations like yours, where guests are in a completely different location, we help them find the next train connection to Interlaken so that they don’t miss the return journey. During the whole time, we are in contact with the tour guide informing him/her about the situation. Lastly, the seating arrangement in our buses is on a "first come, first served" basis instead of fixed allocations, where passengers are free to choose their seats as they board the bus. For this reason, your desired seat may no longer be available when boarding the bus. We hope that you still enjoyed the visit to the top of Europe and all the activities that come with the experience and that you give us a second chance on your next visit to our country. Kind regards, Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours
Pretty but not sure it was worth it.
Roberta_K, Jun 2023
Enjoy the ride on the tram up and back down. It is spectacular. The time in between was like being in a herd of cattle. It was packed with lots of pushing and shoving. Picture taking in the ice castle was dangerous to be behind and lines were held up a lengthy distance because of it. ( Standing still on sloping ice is not easy) . If you do get to look up and around ,the ice castle is amazing. The constant battle with crowds took away from the rest….pretty expensive for the experience and take-away’s

Dear Roberta, Thank you very much for participating in our Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe tour and taking the time to review your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that you felt overwhelmed by the number of visitors at the top of the mountain and that you couldn't visit all attractions. With the Jungfraujoch being on the bucket list of many people visiting Switzerland, it can get busy during peak times. With the limited allocation of seats in reserved train compartments, the Jungfrau railways are working hard to make the journey of our guests as pleasant as possible and to spread the crowds as well as possible throughout the day. While it is certainly possible to visit Jungfraujoch individually by public transport, you would have to change trains no fewer than 9 times (Zürich – Jungfraujoch – Zürich) and would not benefit from the special group rates we offer (total price without Swiss pass: approx. CHF 350.-). We hope that the beautiful ride to ascend and descend the mountain partly made up for the inconveniences and that you enjoyed a wonderful stay in Switzerland. Best regards, Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours
The best of switzerland tour indeed

Very good! Guides are very helpful and good, most especially Weili. If you want to explore jungfrau, you should do this tour.
A MUST if you're visiting the Swiss Alps.
MARK_L, May 2023
I don't think you can come to Switzerland and not take this tour. It was pricey but worth it. One of the highlights of a very memorable trip of a lifetime.
Bucket list Must See!!
Karen_N, May 2023
It is an amazing tour of the Alps. Highly recommend. The guides were excellent and we felt well looked after. Very worthwhile tour and worth the money! The views are spectacular. The fact that we could cancel 24hrs before and get a full refund was a selling point as well!
Worst experience ever!!!!!
Bradenton_T, Apr 2023
Just to be short, we has to spend 220 USD to get back to Luzern in our own. We waited from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM for the tour guide at the meeting point. No one showed up. We thought we were left behind, but it was strange because we were the only ones waiting. Then, we get a call asking where we were, and to get back, really!. The bus was very late and no one let us know. The group is very large about 60-70 people. There was so much confusion with the instructions from the tour guide. Anyways, it was a mess from the start. The bus arrived late, and the driver treated us very rudely, and did not even apologize for being late. We had to paid to get back to Luzern. Between the bus and train, we spend over 220 dollars.
Response from Host, May 2023
Dear Bradenton, Thank you very much for joining our tour to Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe and taking to time to write this detailed review about your experience with us. We are very sorry to hear that you missed the meeting point to return back to Lucerne. To find out what went wrong, we have discussed your feedback with your tour guide. We understand from her account that she repeated the information about the meeting time and location few times in the bus and at Grindelwald Terminal before ascending the mountain: 16:00 in the entrance hall at the summit of Jungfraujoch. The aim of meeting at the summit is to guarantee that all guests take the correct train. There are of course guests who decide to descend earlier, like in your case, but this is absolutely no problem as long as they are at the bus at departure time. Your tour guide called us informing us that she was missing two guests. Unfortunately, you descended to Grindelwald Terminal too early, arriving already at 15:00, while the rest of the group arrived at 17:05. When we got your call, we gave you instructions to go to Interlaken so that you didn’t have to wait longer and could enjoy the village until the group had arrived. While we totally understand your disappointment, our team tried to help you meet your group again but you decided to take the public train to go back to Lucerne on your own. It is the job of our tour guides to make sure that everyone receives the information about the meeting points, especially when going to the mountains. In case there are any questions or doubts, the guides are always approachable. Additionally, our emergency contact details are provided in the vouchers of our guests to that they can reach out to us in situations like this. We regret not having heard from you earlier on that day, as we would have gladly helped you to make the best out of the afternoon until the group had arrived. We hope that you still enjoyed a wonderful stay in Switzerland and look forward to welcoming you on tour on your next visit to our beautiful country. Best regards, Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours
Incredible Scenery, and an Engineering Marvel
Thomas_H, Apr 2023
One of the most memorable days I can remember. The Bernese Alps are magnificent, and the trip up to the Jungfraujoch provides views that could only be had otherwise via helicopter. The tour from Luzern was well organized and allowed ample time (over 3 hours) at the top - enough to explore the many viewpoints, tunnels, ice caves/carvings and shops/ restaurants available. The modern and comfortable cog railway cars travel up inside the mountain in an amazing tunnel built in the late 1890's- an engineering marvel of its time.
