Our guide Shane was outstanding. Shane did a great job of interacting with everyone in our group and constantly made sure he was tailoring the tour to our interests. He was very informative and entertaining as we saw all the sites on our tour. In particular he was great at finding numerous local wildlife along the way. A king day but well worth it.

Cannot say enough positive things about this day spent with Shane as our guide and 2 more couples who quickly became our friends. This was exactly what we hoped to see and more!! Shane went out of his way to stop every time he saw a great photo op for us! We were all SO excited to see koalas in the wild (not in an animal reserve)! Ocean views, a 5-star restaurant for lunch, the apostles, quaint Oceanside towns, and absolutely stunning views!!! It was the best day we could have asked for! Thanks, Shane!!!

It was an awesome trip! The deiver/guide was amazing who kept us engaged with tons of facts and anecdotes that he shared through out the trip. The route was also well chosen wnd allowed us to cruise against the traffic through out the trip. The driver was well aware of the route and wild life along. We managed to spot koalas, kangaroo and many birds along the way.

Everything about this day trip is worth remembering. Jeremy (from Hike and Seek Team) is a perfect guide for this trip. Right from taking us through all unknown (and spectacular) hide-out spots and sharing with us the rich legacy / history associated with each location/ spots, it was truly an enriching and enjoyable trip. 12 Apostles, Gibson steps, lunch at the perch, koala/ kangaroo spoting, Dooley’s ice-cream (Australia’s most award winning ice-cream) at Apollo Bay, California redwood tree were all fantastic. The number of location / spots we covered by end of day were unimaginable ! This is a must visit trip if you visit Melbourne. Hike and Seek team provided us with such a wonderful experiences which will surely remain etched with us for a while ! A big shout-out to Jeremy again for being our host and guide for this trip ! 10/10 will be an understatement.

Perfect small group tour

Shane was a fantastic tour guide. He knew just where to look. And we could go places the big tour bus couldn't. It was the perfect small group tour. Very comfortable ride. We were lucky enough you see koalas and kangaroos on our trip as well as beautiful scenery along the ocean road. We also were able to take a nice walk to a waterfall. Absolutely fantastic tour.

A great tour with a couple of let downs

This was a pretty good tour but I'll list the cons first Our Tour Guide was 1/2 hr late picking up everyone on the tour because she diverted to pick up her friend - I could have done with not standing in the cold for that extra time The 'healthy snack' was bruised apples or bananas The average for lunch was more like $45 dollars rather than the $35 quoted in the ad It appeared that our driver was having trouble staying awake on the early morning and late evening parts of the trip - the minivan was swaying in the lanes and in the evening we were getting tooted at by other drivers because our van was moving into their lane The trip ended up being 15 hours and not the 12 hours quoted - this might be in part to the fact that we were going 80kms in a 100km zone (again nasty looks from other drivers) and that we had a late pick-up Viewing the koalas was a bit of a non-event really The Pros Our guide was lovely and she was very knowledgeable The 12 apostles themselves were quite impressive to see The bush walk was great - it was nice to get out in nature and out of the van for a little while The lunch was fantastic I would recommend this tour but maybe with a driver that was a little more 'on to it' The bush

I really enjoyed this tour in spite of the many hours spent driving in the van. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The rain didn't even ruin the day, in fact it felt quite therapeutic whilst in Great Otway national park! We also spotted koalas and kangaroos up close in Kennett River which was exciting. I would highly recommend this tour for those who wish to see the Great Ocean Road and its' surrounding areas but don't have access to a car.

Marcus the tour guide was great. He went out of his way to make participants comfortable and informed about what we were seeing. Particularly enjoyed the Redwood forest and drive along Ocean highway. The 12 Apostles is a little overrated and not that unique. I have seen that type of landscape in lots of areas around the world where water comes in contact with soft limestone rock. With the 12 apostles being marketed as the highlight of the tour, I was questioning if I had made a good decision in choosing this tour; but overall, I was pleased by the end of the day. For participants that have not experienced other water/limestone features, I can see where the 12 Apostles might be more impressionable and viewed as more spectacular.

This was a wonderful small-group adventure on the Great Ocean Road, including both the signature stops and off-the-beaten-path choices. Jeremy was a wonderful guide, always throwing in interesting facts and details about what we were seeing and where we were going, running the gamut from history and legend to his own experiences. The drive (both along the actual Great Ocean Road, as well as through the rainforest) was beautiful and varied, as were the stops, including light and more challenging walks/hikes, beautiful lookouts, and impromptu roadside koala-spotting. If you are debating which Great Ocean Road tour to take, don’t hesitate to take this one!
