Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Wonderful food and tour experience with a charming, knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed learning about turkey in Yucatán cuisine and visiting the markets and stalls to see what was on offer. Her knowledge and time spent answering questions along with the markets tour was a real bonus.

Alex was awesome and knowledgeable about the food and the area. Gave some great recommendations for other fun restaurants we should go to. The time (3pm) of the tour was a bit odd, too early for dinner, too late for lunch. Otherwise, Alex was very good at getting the group to interact, food was AMAZING.

Excellent food tour of the market. Alex, our guide, expertly navigated the various vendors and curated a unique menu of local foods providing an explanation of each. There was so much food to taste! you won’t go hungry! The only recommendation I have would be to start the tour later in the evening when it is cooler.

First of all we want to say our review has nothing to do with Annette the host. She was friendly, but we have had far better food tours. One of the other people on this tour commented it should have been called the Taco Tour, as nearly everything we ate was a taco. there was no history of the City behind the food, samples of local fruit, although we did sample ice cream and a Agua Fresca. Could have been better in our opinion, and not worth what we paid.

We went to the Mercado Lucas De Galves the day before our tour and found it overwhelming. During the tour we visited a number of vendors in this market and learned about the food and tasted some that were new to us. After the tour, we knew what to order from the market, the food stalls on the street and in restaurants. Our guide Annette was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the foods of the Yucatan. We had an informative and delightful 3 hours on this tour.

Pros Tour guide Cons Food options were 'okay' Value Reasonable Usually I leave a food tour with at least one or two places I want to go back to. This time - none. We had more flavorful examples of all the dishes elsewhere, so it was a bit disappointing from that perspective. It's Mexico...why didn't we fight our way through the small outdoor/indoor markets bumping elbows going from stall to stall? I mean, I get it...they have a market in the plaza on Sunday, yada yada, BUT it just wasn't a remarkable experience. I would still recommend it if for no other reason that getting a lay of the land, but not really for the food (ironic, I know).

Each stop was amazing but we especially liked the whole Mercado experience: the smells, sounds, busyness of the place. Our guide, Alex, pointed us to the spices we’d liked so far and we stocked up!

Tour exceeded my expectation, I thought I was going to receive samples of food but to my surprise they were full size portions and very tasty. No Call No Show.

The meeting time was 3pm at the plaza merida sign. We arrived at 2:20 until 3:30 nobody showed. Very disappointed.

Hi James, We were waiting for you until 3.18 pm with the rest of the group a the meeting point with your guide. We contacted you through Viator Support and tried to call you to let you know we were waiting for you at the meeting point with no answer. It seems strange that you couldn't find your guide as he was waiting for you from 2.40 at the 'MERIDA' letters at the Plaza Grande. All the rest of the foodies could find him and the tour ran without any problems with 4 other guests, besides your NO SHOW.
