One of the highlights of our two week vacation in Italy! Our tour guide, Catrina was terrific! Very knowledgeable about fine food, wine, traditional balsamic and all things with great Italian Food !! Our tour included stops at the indoor farmers market in Modena, several restaurants, balsamic vinegar store, where we learned about real Balsamic and the loving process involved in making "real traditional" balsamic. Great Tour! Terrific Tour Guide. Grazie Mille!!

For Italian food newbies, with too much time and money on their hands
mpmmouse, Apr 2024
Disappointed, not for foodies especially those already acquainted with Italian local produce. More a history tour, not so much a food tour. Overpriced for what you get, could be done in 2 hours… Tip1, you can do at least 50% on your own, and have almost the same experience. Tip2, eat something before you go. It will take a while for something decent to hit your stomach. Very nice guide (hence the 2nd star) but not very impressed with food served. -balsamico tasting (three drops from a small selection, per bottle)-a few different aged parmigiano cheese, with some quince and ricotta - Italian icecream - three mini bread like pitas with choices of local cut meat - two bites of cannoli. Some water, some Lambrusco a cappuccino with local dry bread. Started off with a history lesson first 45minutes. Walking in circles around the same venues, not worth four hours of your time. You can visit the market yourself and get almost half of the tour for free in your own time.
It was okay….

The best part was the balsamic tasting. The staff knew everything we asked and were super passionate about balsamic.
Excellent experience touring Modena.
Brenda_L, Mar 2024
We loved our tour guide. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. Her choice of tour stops were excellent with generous servings of the different foods. It was nice that even though it was a walking tour, most of the stops included sit down time. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the experience.
Professional, delicious and funny tour.
Marion_B, Mar 2024
Despite the mixup, Andrea came through and gave us an amazing tour of Modena. The food was great and the vendors were very friendly.
Modena food Tour
Edmund_W, Nov 2023
We had an absolutely delightful full and amazing guide, who went above and beyond. However, the food tour was not as advertised. We believed we were going to go places where they actually made Pecorino Romano cheese, and also a someone that produced authentic balsamic vinegar. That was not the case.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry that the food tour itinerary wasn't clear. Our program indeed mentions a stop to taste Parmigiano Reggiano and Balsamic vinegar, but we understand the expectation for visits to the actual producers wasn't met. We're currently reviewing our descriptions to ensure clarity about the tasting experiences versus visits to production sites. Once again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Best regards, Andrea - Taste Bologna
Time well spent

Our guide was extremely qualified and patient. We enjoyed all of the stops and the time with the tour. Definitely would recommend this experience.
Experience Modena’s captivating essence!
Jean_I, Oct 2023
This tour is a “must do”! Our very knowledgeable tour guide, Loredana, introduced us to the special and unique qualities and heritage of both Modena and Emilia-Romana. The history is fascinating, and her culinary tasting selections were superb. Our small group (7) all were able to absorb and share in this immersive experience. Additionally, having the tour at the front end of your stay, if possible, allows for follow up visits for more in depth exploration, with knowledge of the geographic layout of the city center. And, photo ops galore! Plus, I learned more about the balsamic vinegar industry and history here through our tasting stop from the fabulous presentation than expected. Perfetto! An enchanting city with tasty delights and experiences await! Grazie Mille, Loredana!!

Valerie_G, Jul 2023
This tour was fantastic! It was a great balance of the town history, origin of the foods we were able to taste and tradition. They gave a clear understanding through tasting and explaining the difference in aging cheese(also using difference cows milk) and balsamic. Fascinating and very yummy!

Johanna_H, May 2023
Lori was amazing! If you are going to Modena this tour was great we walked through the town and stoped at multiple places and even walked through the market which was very cool to see all the different offerings. We even went back to the balsamic vinegar shop to take some home as a souvenir. 10/10
