Interesting but too long!

Naples Underground is a great place to go to discover the tunnels of the past. However, the experience is 1.5 hours long. It really only needs to be an hour. We felt that the second part of the trip was really eeking it out and not as interesting as the first part. Sorry! I would recommend it on the whole though.

Very fascinating one and thrilled by walking through the aqueduct tunnel. A 'must' visit and not to miss this, if you are visiting Naples. Thanks to our guide 'Maya', who narrated the history of this underground very well and kept engaged us.
Unusual experience in Naples

Fascinating tour of the underground in Naples. Learned about its history and saw artifacts from its use as a bomb shelter. If you are claustrophobic, this is not for you as the tunnel to the cisterns is tight, but we ducked and as the guide put it "walked like an Egyptian" and it was well worth the effort.

This was an excellent excursion. It is not catacombs, it is a historical venue demonstrating genius of the people of Napoli, and how the tunnels we used throughout the years. Very well done.

Guide was very good even humorous! Explained well. However the waiting was very chaotic at the entrance. No clear guidance or signs of English or Italian tours. This could be better.

Price was right for this tour group, it was large and noisy with schoolers so if you want something more detail consider hiring a private tour.

So much to see and hear about the history of Naples. It is amazing to see how the caverns were quarried and then used in so many different ways. Our guide was excellent with plenty of interesting stories. This is a must see place.
Walking in Underground Tunnels

This was a fun and unique adventure. They have a tour in English every two hours. It was very unusual and interesting. It did take one hour. It was safe. We also went to another hidden underground gem after this place. It was an underground Roman theater. It’s fun to see something built over 2,000 years ago. The guide was fun and knowledgeable and the group size was about 20. Good for all ages as long as you can climb up and down 120 steps.

Make sure to buy ticket before going. Lines are long and it’s complete chaos. Buying this ticket let us skip a lot of headache. It’s a very popular tour and the lines start on a busy part of the tourist section. It’s also very hard to hear on the tour because they have several hundred people on the underground at a time and all the sound echos. You might want to research before you go in case you cannot hear the guide. It’s really cool and I would do again, just know that the people running it are really bad at organizing the crowds and you have to fight your way to the front even with a ticket.

We (Germans) booked the English tour version besides another possible Italian version. Unfortunately, he seemed a bit over-routined and relatively less enthusiastic while presenting. Additionally, he was pretty impatient with people who needed longer due to picture-taking. To be fair, it was the last tour of the day and it was high season in summer. Regarding these facts, it might have been just bad luck. The content, though, was very interesting and gives you a completely different impression of busy Naples. I wouldn’t have believed how much exists down there.

The Tour was NOT really nice, because the tour-group was too big, so you can’t hear the guide and it was very boring . The information given by the tour guide wasn’t interesting… I’m sorry to say, than you can spend your money in better ways( for example for ‘Gelato‘).
