This was an amazing way to kick off our first visit to India. We saw so many amazing destinations and landmarks in a few days. I appreciated that there was some flexibility in the itinerary and Mr. Gopal from the booking company called us to check in multiple times. Our driver, Mahashveer, was one of the kindest and most polite people we met in all of India during our two weeks there. Mahashveer always made us feel safe and at home. He also had wifi in the car which was a life saver. The admission fees for most of the destinations are not included and neither is the tip. There is a different tour guide at every destination so be prepared to have cash and tip each guide. Also, as Americans, we were not used to the private shopping experiences that are planned along the trip. Normally we would want to browse in a shop independently, but that's not how shopping works in India. The shop owners show you around, tell you about everything, they have to pick things up for you, and if you're not used to that, like us, we found it pretty uncomfortable. We also are not used to bartering on the price, so it just felt like we were getting ripped off everywhere. However, in the end, we realized that the shops we went to on this tour were actually some of the finest shops we experienced all over India. They are expensive and maybe you feel they are overpriced compared to the markets, but the quality was significantly better than typical shops. We definitely would have liked to buy a carpet, or the marble coasters that we saw after visiting the Taj Mahal if we had a chance to go back.
