What To Expect

Meet your guide near Rajiv Chowk Metro Station in central Delhi, and set off to discover the Indian capital’s street food.

Delve into bustling Old Delhi, and hear about the tastes and traditions of its snacks, and the history of the walled city. Stop at different stands to try local staples: the foods you that will amount to dinner, snacks and drinks, so come with an appetite!

Sample specialties like soft paratha flatbreads and spiced aloo chaat potatoes, and learn about their historical roots. Along with savory goodies, taste some sweet specialties. Try some super-sweet, deep-fried jalebis, sip on a lassi (frothy, yogurt drink) and savor local rice pudding and bread-and-butter pudding.

Most food is vegetarian, but if you’re a meat-eater, opt to taste some delicious Indian-style fried chicken. Vegetarians, worry not: at this point, you’re free to explore the surrounding Matia Mahal neighbourhood.

Having been on many food tours this was by far my favorite one. The kebab we ate at the end was possibly the best food I have had. My tour guide Tavraej was incredible. If you are in Dehli you have to do this!

The whole tour was overall good. I liked traveling by different modes such as the metro and rickshaw. Some of the locations for food were a turn off.

Had the most wonderful time with our excellent and very knowledgable tour guide, Naresh. He took us all around the Chandni Chowk area, sampling amazing foods that we wouldn't have had the wherewithal to find on our own. All throughout the trip he shared interesting information and perspective on the dishes and their history. He made sure that all our bites were from reputable and clean establishments, so no worries about food safety here. Highly recommended!

We had a great time. Naresh was an awesome guide and did a great job at taking us to all different parts of Old Delhi. Would definitely recommend this tour not only just to try some great and safe street food, but also to experience Chandni Chowk. We felt safe with him and had no problems with the food or area.

This food tour was excellent - easily our favorite thing in Delhi! We wanted to try some of the local street food but didn’t know where to start, and this tour was the perfect way to explore. We got to try loads of delicious dishes, and take the delhi metro and a few rickshaws. Naresh was a great tour guide, super friendly and really made the whole experience worth it. Writing this review a few days out and absolutely no stomach issues! Highly recommend!

Naresh was personable and accommodating, and took me to a variety of types of establishments to eat many different types of foods. I appreciated that Naresh ate along with me, which other food tour guides sometimes don't. Conversation with him about his life and experiences was interesting and enjoyable. Tiny recommendation: this tour, like some other food tours I've been on, should put the savory dishes up front and save the sweet stuff for the end!

Amazing start to finish! Sam very kindly showed us around the metro and the crowded markets of Chandni Chowk. Every stop was delicious and it was so comfortable to just eat (large portions!) without worrying about the cost. Sam was incredibly attentive and we had a phenomenal tour.

The real India. Overwhelming streets, the food was good, interesting, varied transportation was used. The guides work hard to arrange the transportation and keep track of everyone on the tour. This is a way to see Old Delhi safely. Recommend.

We had a great time on our food tour with Sourav! He was knowledgeable about the food and the history of the Old Delhi neighborhood. We tasted all kinds of different snacks and got to see several neighborhoods, plus ride in a rickshaw a couple of times! Everything was delicious - my husband and I were stuffed full by the end. My favorite was definitely the Chole Bhature, but it was all excellent.

Our guide was incredibly nice and informative. Did not expect to learn so much about the history of Old Delhi and foods we were introduced to. I loved the cycle rickshaw almost as much as the amazing foods we got to try! The spice market is incredible and I can guarantee you that we would not have been able to find what were were looking or without our guide's help. Ended out night with dessert and our guide was kind enough to help us get back to the waiting area by Red Fort so we could get an Uber back to our hotel. If you want to try Indian street food and learn about Old Delhi’s history, this is absolutely worth your time!
