What To Expect

Meet your guide and group outside of City Hall 10 minutes before your chosen tour time. You'll recognize your guide as one of the founding fathers of the country, Alexander Hamilton. Your guide is a native New Yorker and professional colonial reenactor, who will stay in character throughout your walking tour of colonial New York.

Visit landmarks such as Aaron Burr's law office, Thomas Jefferson's residence, George Washington's residence, the first Supreme Court and the first US Congress. As you walk, you'll be able to travel back in time through your guide's commentary. See America's First War Memorial, where Alexander Hamilton drilled with Revolutionary Soldiers, where the Sons of Liberty erected Liberty Poles, and where Patriots fought the British prior to the Boston Massacre

Headsets are provided so you can hear your guide clearly, and you'll have plenty of time to ask questions during and after the tour.

Best NYC Tour I’ve Taken!
Kimberly_M, Oct 2021
Huzzah! One of the best tours I’ve been on in NYC and I’ve taken numerous tours of the city over the years. The guide, in re-enacting Alexander Hamilton, took such thoughtful care in taking his audience on a travel back in time. It was clear that he wanted his “guests” to be both entertained and informed. If you are choosing NYC tours, this will be your best choice!

Thank you for such high praise. Yes, I get a sense of fulfillment from helping people to understand more about our great country.
Lots of Information!
Joan_R, Aug 2021
Our "Hamilton" was excellent and shared a lot of information about the man and his life and the politics of the time and what it was like, generally, for folks that lived in NYC in Alexander Hamilton's day. We had a mix of ages in our group and he engaged us all. Fun times!

This tour was amazing, and the best...
Joseph M, Jul 2018
This tour was amazing, and the best part is that it is given by an actor playing Alexander Hamilton. His depth of knowledge was admirable. He answered all my questions as I felt like I was talking to a Founding Father. He explained how New York played a key role in the creation of America and how Hamilton influenced New York and America. We visited about 20 places which cover almost every scene in the musical. The wireless headsets were a great bonus as I could control the volume and not miss a word. I did not realize how important a headset was but NYC is loud, my hearing is not what it used to be. I would highly recommend this tour to history buffs, like myself, or for families who would get a kick out of meeting Alexander Hamilton. If you see the musical you should take this tour to complete the Hamilton experience. I even got to keep the headset as a gift.
Response from Host, Mar 2022
Thank you for the detailed recommendation. The headsets are the essential way to hear all the wisdom of Hamilton.
