The tour is approximately 6 to 7 hours and the travel time going to and from and in between the locations is around 3 hours.
Waimea waterfall level is gauged by natural rain water. Life guards at the Waimea Valley determine if swimming is allowable during the day of the tour.
If swimming at the Waimea waterfall is not allowable due to insufficient rainfalls, guests may opt to swim at turtle beach.
What to bring? Some cash for lunch and fruit stands, towel, sunscreen, swimwear, and camera. Swimming is optional.

Hawaii in 8hrs

Thank you for the lovely memories. Captain Vince's energy and engagement from start to finish were impeccable. So informative and entertaining at the same time, about Hawaii, the land (Aina) to the Mauna and Wai. I learned so much from this day tour. They were well organised, and top customer care. Justin, Captain Vince 's Co Tour Guide, A native and local Hawaiian. Very knowledgeable about his people, and all other diverse cultures on the archipelago. Their origins, the myths, the facts and most importantly, what one looks for in these activities. He was so engaging, passionate about his culture and really good at teaching others about Hawaii. The whole tour was interesting, scenic, local stores, and educational. Would definitely recommend, if you are looking for a full day of site seeing. We were looking for specific stops but not have to drive ourselves. Capt Vince taught us the Hawaiian phrases and also the history of the islands while making it entertaining. If you book this tour, ask if Capt Vince is driving that day. Aloha 🌺

Try a tour with less shopping stops.

Driving along the eastern coastline was spectacular. However the rest was a glorified shopping tour. Fashion shop, macadamia farm, fruit stall and the Dole plantation was just a shop. Then instead of returning us to our hotels at 4pm the driver stopped at a seafood restaurant for late lunch. Luckily the restaurant wasnt open till 5pm so we got back to our hotels at 5pm. Also the waterfall valley charges $10 per person each way to catch the shuttle. This is not included in the fare.

Choose this circle tour! It is a van style vehicle with intimate sized group of 6-7 people. Plenty of room in van. Good views from windows. The guides are great. You will appreciate this tour in a van more than you will on a larger tour bus. Completely unique experience! Do it. Doooo it! 😁

It was 3.5 stars, at best, for me, and a strong 4+star for my hubby. The best part was the driver/host, Dave. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and funny. He truly kept us thinking and moving like a “family”, rather than a group of strangers. He also took us on a tour of neighborhoods I’m certain I wouldn’t have seen otherwise, and filled us in on historical cultural issues unique to the island. You can’t put a price on his skills or his knowledge about the island. But the stops weren’t that interesting to me, (my husband thought differently). We stopped at an area where Amelia Earhart was known to make her last flight. It was okay, but needed all of 5 minutes or less to see. The Halona Blowhole reminded me of the sites people look forward to seeing…until they do. Then you’re left wondering if that’s all there is. And I still don’t understand why we went to a nut farm. For me, it was one more tourist trap and not the best use of the time. And the food? You sign up thinking the one place you’ll get to eat is the shrimp shack along the way. Wrong! Unless you really want to try the shrimp, don’t bother. I don’t eat shrimp, so ate poorly done chicken. Just know there are plenty of stops made where you can eat or snack along the way, and the food offerings at Waimea looked so much better. I’d suggest waiting for lunch until you get there, and snack a little until then. So what worked for me? I really enjoyed the Byodo In Temple and loved the time we spent in Waimea Valley. I also think we should have had an hour or more at the Dole Plantation. By the end of a long, long day and drive, we were asked if we wanted to spend enough time at Dole to take the 45 minute informative train ride. No one had the energy for that, but I would have LOVED that under different circumstances. My suggestion to the company: build in lots more time for leisure at Waimea and Dole, add time and a stop in Haleiwa for lunch at the restaurant of your choice, instead of that tourist trap shrimp place, and keep visiting the temple and the fruit stop that offered local island treats. I think that would have made a fully enjoyable day.

The Most Fun Tour!!

We had the BEST time on Captain Vince’s circle island tour. He kept the group thoroughly entertained while driving from place to place. He’s organized, knows the island, knows the people at each stop and I felt very safe with him. It was also so nice that at various points, he took family pictures of us with our phones (we don’t always get a good family photo on trips). He has a TV in his bus to keep people entertained and teach people about the island. If you do the Waimea falls and garden, you won’t also go to turtle bay (you’ll just drive by). If you’re lame and/or don’t like to interact with people, this might not be for you. For my family and I, we had such a fun day and would highly recommend!
