Whale Watch Guarantee :If our Naturalist does not sight a whale during the cruise, guests are given a complimentary return whale watch cruise. Pick a spot aboard the fresh air of the decks or by the indoor viewing windows as you glide past Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach. A naturalist joins you on board to provide informative commentary and point out any other spotted marine life, such as sea turtles, porpoises and Hawaii spinner dolphins.

What To Expect

Hop aboard your vessel and enjoy a smooth ride past scenic views of iconic Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach. Grab an air-conditioned spot indoors or on the outdoor viewing decks as you glide through the NOAA whale sanctuary of Maunalua Bay.

A professional naturalist provides narration on board about the biology and behavior of humpback whales. Keep your eyes peeled for other marine creatures popping up from the surface, such as green sea turtles or Hawaii spinner dolphins.

Whale sightings guaranteed! If the Naturalist does not sight a whale during the cruise, you are given a complimentary return whale watch cruise.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

The Majestic crew was extremely friendly and attentive throughout the 2 1/2 hours we were on board. We saw whales almost immediately and throughout the tour ... 13 in all. None of them were extremely close, but we could see them surface and shoot air out of their blowholes. A couple of the sighting were a female with a calf. A few times we saw them dive and their tales were visible as they went under the water. It was the most relaxing time of our two weeks in Waikiki. Would definitely recommend!!

Great experience!

This tour was a great experience. We saw alot of whales, especially given it was the last day of the "season".... the staff was knowledgeable and friendly and the service was great. The boat was much larger than we expected so but ended up being one of the better whale watching experiences we have had vs some of the smaller boats. Highly recommend to others!

Great whale watching tour!

We love to whale watch whenever the humpback are back in Hawaii (usually Sept/Oct thru Mar/Apr. This is one of the better ones we've been on on O'ahu. The personnel all wore smiles, live entertainment (single performer with guitar and, sometimes ukulele) provided a nice background of music (loud enough to hear, but can still hear your conversations. We sat on the second deck - mostly in the wonderful air conditioning, and ventured outside when whales were spotted. The naturalist was informative. Liked there were amenities on all decks, and food was available for purchase. We saw about 3 small pods; wasn't able to take pics of all, but the boat's photographer had pics for purchase. I got them emailed to me.

Bill, the guide, was great. The whole crew was very attentive from start to finish. We saw 3 separate whale pods which included a 2 week old calf. Also saw a turtle. Very comfortable trip.

Don’t bother … waste of money

Sat around in same spot in high winds and rough seas to see a mom/calf pair and a couple of turtles. No whale watch we’ve ever been on (in Hawaii or anywhere else in the world) just sits and hopes whales come to the boat. With the rough seas and high wind, they should have cancelled it. Only good thing was the musician.

Enjoyed Da Water Time

While we enjoyed being on the water and the staff taking good care of us, we saw a lot of whale activity but it was all too far away to appreciate. No fault to the crew... We were supposed to be on a small craft out of the North Shore. It unfortunately canceled due to the anticipation of massive, 30-foot waves. So to be on this big ship instead of on a small craft trying to see whales was a bit of a let down. Again, the staff was great, the captain did a great job of TRYING to get close to the whales, nature just did not cooperate. We didn't have any children with us but I thought it was pretty cool that they had coloring pages, word searches, and other activities to keep the littles busy and entertained. They even provided the littles with whale watching binoculars. We did enjoy being on the water and relaxing.

Terrific way to spend the day!

Wonderful experience - just being out on the water and taking in a different view of Waikiki and Diamond Head was so refreshing! Spotting whales with commentary from our naturalist (and very relaxing live Hawaiian music during “down time”) was superb. The whole process was very smooth - from booking, directions, parking (though fair warning the parking spaces are REALLY narrow in the lot adjacent to the dock), boarding, cruising, spitting whales, and returning we could not have asked for a better experience. Staff on board were friendly and attentive and we felt truly welcomed by the spirit of Hawaiian ohana. Definitely recommend!

This is a DO NOT MISS adventure. We saw pods of whales! So close at times to hear the blow. You have to remember, these are wild animals in their own habitat! The captain of the vessel will do his best, but you’re at the mercy of these massive mammals to participate. Mahalo!

Crew is very friendly and knowledgeable. They were very accommodating since my original scheduled tour with another company canceled on me upon arrival due to engine trouble. Highlight of the day is we saw multiple whale sightings including sighting a breaching whale. The whole experience was beyond my expectations.

Whale watching

I found out first hand why it is called whale watching and not whale seeing! Although they will let you come back for free. Unfortunately, we were at the end of our trip so werent able to take advantage of this. Our original booking was canceled due to lack of people so we were discouraged by this as well. They did put us on a dinner cruise that we did do the same day as our original whale watch; so that was nice. We rebooked the first available whale watch as this was something we really wanted. I know nothing is guaranteed, but this was like "top of my list" so of course I was disappointed.
