Excellent tour, lots of interesting background information, very knowledgable guide who introduced many interesting and yummy foods. Tour ends near Doguyasuji where you can shop for beautiful knives and kitchen tools.

The best market tour in Japan

I highly recommend this market tour. We did around 4 similar tours while in Japan (including the Tsukiji in Tokyo), and this by far was the best experience, most informative, and overall best deal. Anna was an excellent guide and provided loads of information and delicious bites of food for us to try. I really appreciated that she discussed the significance of each of the different dishes and gave us pointers on how to identify high quality and authentic products on our own. I also loved that she had relationships with all of the vendors we were visiting and the tour focused on the mom-and-pop stalls within the market. There was more than enough food for the people on our tour and we left completely full, so I would recommend eating sparingly (if at all) prior.

Great tour, lots of samples and food to eat, all very tasty! The highlight had to be the fugu - which was carefully prepared, of course. Our guide knew all the top spots, I’d highly recommend!

Anna was a wonderful guide! I had a lot of fun with her and the rest of the group, and she chose the best food for us to try. Everything was delicious! I'd recommend this tour for anyone who wants to try a bunch of different Osaka street foods but doesn't know where to start (or how to order). It's also nice to get a feel for the busy market without being super overwhelmed.

Hikaru was easy to understand was very knowledgeable about japanese food and culture. He was also very approachabl. The food presented to us was delicious. Would have never been able to try the different food without hikaru introducing the food/ingredients to us. He even offered dinner recommendations for a good wagyu place which was great

Friendly and knowledgeable guide Michael got me to sample some of Kuromon Market's best on this tasting tour. You'd get to try sakura-mochi, oysters, and the legendary fugu (pufferfish), amongst other Osaka classics. Michael went above and beyond by taking me to Den-Den Town, Osaka's answer to Akihabara. He also gave me some recommendations on things to see or do next, which helped me make the most out of my trip. Worth every dollar. 10/10.

Mico Yamamoto was friendly , courteous and extremely knowledgeable of the market and its FoodStalls. Mico went out of his way to answer all of our questions and couldn’t have been more kinder or considerate. His English is Perfect . I have no hesitation in recommending Mico as a Guide on any Tour. He was the highlight of our holiday.

Our tour guide was really sweet and knowledgeable. Do not pay attention to the list of food they have that you will try because it is out dated, and you can also try additional things that you are interested in if you let your tour guide know. We got to try both whale and pufferfish on this tour, which that alone was worth it. Really interesting and a great experience. Highly recommend!

Michael was great! Very easy going and seemed to have a great relationship with the vendors we stopped at and some that we didn't. A great way to have more context when trying new things. Lots of very yummy food in a place I may not have visit otherwise so definitely would have missed out on.

We took a day trip from Kyoto and were only in Osaka for about 8 hours. We loved this tour! Our guide Ana did a fantastic job navigating our group through the market from vendor to vendor and teaching us about the food we tried. The tour was well paced and we were very full at the end! We tried many dishes that we wouldn’t have otherwise tried (because we didn’t know what they were!). I would highly recommend this tour!

We loved our food tour with British Andy & would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Osaka. Right from the moment we booked, every detail was taken care of. From clear concise meeting instructions, to ensuring all our group’s needs were met. Andy shared lots of stories & history about the market itself, foods, traditions & evolution of the food culture. We tried an array of different foods & were very full at the end. I would suggest navigating the market ourselves, knowing which store or food to pick OR where you are allowed to eat, would be a little more challenging without Andy. As a family group traveling with my sister & 3 children (aged 9-14), we really appreciated how considerate Andy was of each person’s needs, especially some of the picky eaters in the group. He had great alternatives to some dishes to ensure no one missed the experience. The timing was also perfect with 3 kids! We thoroughly enjoyed this tour & would do it again with Andy in a heartbeat!

Highly recommend the Kuromon Market Food tour! Our wonderful and friendly guide, Anna, brought us to several different vendors to experience a variety of delicious dishes, from tofu to eel to tuna sashimi and much more. The market has so many offerings, so having her curated choices made our visit much less overwhelming than if we had gone by ourselves. The tour was well-paced, we learned about the market, and by the end we felt full but not overly stuffed. Five out of five stars!
