Not a tour and no samplings

Our guide was very kind but this was in no way a food tour and there were no “samplings” as the description included. Our guide just sort of walked around with a group of us and paid for things we selected to eat. She gave us a “budget” of 1200 yen which only afforded my husband and I to eat 2 things. Along the way there was no information given about the market or food unless we specifically asked a question and even then the guide seemed unsure and uninformed. We were upset with how much the tour cost when it was not a tour at all and we likely would have been better off touring on our own.

Highly recommend this tour for foodies! Much different vibe than Dotonbori

I loved this foodie walking tour of Kuromon! My guide Taku did an amazing job of pacing us through the various eateries and places to buy souvenirs. Taku was great at helping me communicate and ask questions to the locals. He also helped take lots of good photos for me, which is key as a solo traveler. Taku took us to all the best places to eat that locals go to - and helped us avoid the tourist traps. I had the best gyoza and oden that I’ve ever had thru Taku’s recommendation 😋 I highly recommend taking a stroll thru Kuromon before your tour to scope things out - and then ask your guide to focus on the places you want to visit specifically. Kuromon has an entirely different vibe than Dotonbori- I’d definitely come back again!

Our tour guide Anne was so nice and helpful for our tour. She had lived in Buffalo previously, which is very close to where we are from in Rochester NY! Great English speaking skills and made sure we all tried the foods we wanted to find. She also brought hand wipes to help us after eating the messier foods! Thank you Anne!

This food tour was concentrated along one area of the market. We got try the things we wanted, but had to buy most of the tastings. Tour bought only 2 tastings. Because to tour was over lunch time everything was very crowded so we often just walked by places. Meg, our guide, did a good job showing us the market from a japanese point of view

Our guide was so nice and friendly. She had told all about Osaka and the foods. We’re really enjoy the takoyaki, oden and sweet dessert. She takes us walking around the market, buying sushi and souvenirs, and also recommended us another interesting place to visit.
