Our guide was Yuka. She was terrific! It was a great tour and she helped us with the best suggestions. I was having a difficult time finding a very specific souvenir for a family of American young boys who are half Japanese. They wanted baseball celebrity Ohtani jerseys. She searched and found us the exact place to buy them. I am very grateful!

Only one day in Osaka? This tour is for you! My husband and I truly appreciated our guide, Aki, who was very friendly and knowledgeable about Osaka. We never could have done or seen all that we did on our own. Skip the unknowns and get a private guide, you will not regret it!

Do not miss this tour, especially if you have limited time in Osaka and it’s led by Momoyo Kanagawa. We enjoyed seeing the sights and were glad for her flexibility if we wanted to stop and admire our surroundings.

Comprehensive day in Osaka - Recommended

Communicating with us as soon as we signed up for the day trip in Osaka, Yama has provided us with most helpful information regarding transportation and the convenience of using IC card, accommodation location, the expected weather, and importantly, recommended to purchase ahead of time tickets for the Osaka Castle, which had saved us the need to stand in a long line once we arrived at the Castle. Energetic and jovial, Yama guided us in Osaka throughout its historical landmarks—Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, Shiten-no-ji Temple, Osaka Castle, and attraction, Dootombori Street—the symbolic business and shopping district. We had a lovely time, however, in retrospect, it would have been prudent of us to carefully review the itinerary for the day, and end the visit in Osaka Castle. This would have allowed us to spend more time in each one of the historical landmarks, which interested us the most. We add this last caveat only to draw attention that it would have been wise to consider that enough is as good as a feast.

If you are interested in the Japanese castles, as I already told you, I do recommend you will visit Himeji Castle next time, which is the first world cultural heritage by UNESCO in Japan. Not a bad tour of Osaka. However, not worth the price you pay. You pay for the guide only (nothing else included). So it’s a bit expensive to still have all your own expenses. Did see some cool and unique places we would have missed. Guide was good but her English was hard to understand. She also walked so quickly!

Our family of 4 had a fantastic trip to Japan. To get situated for our first day, we took this private tour of Osaka. Our guide, Haru Yomaguchi, met us at our hotel near Dotonburi and took us on a wonderful tour of the main sites. Osaka is a big city, and Haru guided us through it, showing us the sites with enthusiasm. We used the very efficient public transportation system to get around (a tip: be sure to install the Suica virtual card into your iPhone’s Wallet. It will make travel a breeze with tap-and-go. Suica and its counterpart PISMO are accepted on public transit and even many stores as payment). We highly recommend this tour and really enjoyed our time with Haru.

Thank you Yama for showing us around Osaka. It was a very wet day, the typhoon was in coming, but that didn’t stop Yama for trying to make the most of our tour. It definitely made for some fun photos in the downpour and there were barely any other tourists around. Yama shared much information about the area and gave us tips on places to eat and see. He helped to take photos of our group and we really appreciated that.

Osaka day tour - not worth it .

Our guide was respectful, had a good sense of humor and had a good knowledge of Japanese culture. However we could have easily done the tour on our own. Getting subway directions is pretty easy and the subway system is very well organized. We visited 3 places in almost 6 hours and it was not worth the Price we paid. We had to pay our own subway tickets , our own entrance fees to all the places we visited and it was definitely not worth the $315 we paid for his company. LIterally there was no benefit from this tour. I am wife felt we wasted our money. We could have used that money for many other things.
