Palermo Family History and Legacy

Incredibly preserved historical site. The tour is with a living descendant family member. It is an up close, very personal and informative view of the family’s history and legacy. Very affordable and well worth the price. We took a lot of amazing photos and were amazed at how well everything is preserved. Highly recommended.

We loved the personal touch - it was one of the owners themselves who gave the tour. The personal stories were very interesting. The owners are descendants of Emperor Frederico II. The home is unique and beautiful with many special artifacts from antiques to current -day trophies. Hand-painted Sicilian tile floors, Murano glass chandeliers. Don’t miss this.

Now this is a must for fans of social history, architecture and the history of Palermo. Worth every penny. The sons of the current Comte deliver the tour, and they do so with warmth, lots of historical knowledge and good humour. Absolutely beautiful building and collection of both personal and historical artifacts. This is really, really worth the money if you're into living history. I went to Capella Palatina after this, and I enjoyed this tour more! I'm not going to spoil it with photographs, but the tour I went on viewed 15 rooms of the villa, several of which in the integrated old watchtower, and it was really worth it for the breadth of what we saw. Note: there are a bunch of stairs so not great for mobility issues, and there are two quite cute cats living on the premises, so if you have severe cat allergies, this may not be right for you.

Receiving a tour directly from a family member who still resides there today made for a one of a kind experience! It was great to see the old world preserved while making room for some modern improvements here and there making it livable for the family now.
