What To Expect

Meet your guide in central Florence in time for a 9.15am departure and set out to explore the city’s highlights on foot. Start by exploring the lively San Lorenzo district, where to admire the Medici Chapel and the Basilica of San Lorenzo on the way to the Piazza del Duomo, home to Florence’s star attraction – the magnificent Duomo (cathedral). Spend time admiring the architectural wonders, including Brunelleschi’s Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery of St. John.

Continue through the medieval heart of Florence, as your guide points out landmarks such as the Bargello Palace, then explore Piazza della Signoria, home to the grand Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery, one of the world’s most important art museums. Pose for photos on the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) and stroll down Via Guicciardini, before arriving at the final destination – the striking Pitti Palace, where your morning tour ends.

Take a break for lunch (own expense), before meeting up with your guide at 1.30pm for your afternoon tour. After an around 1-hour drive, arrive in Pisa and make a beeline for the city’s star attraction – the famous Leaning Tower. Once you’ve posed for photos in front of the iconic landmark, explore the rest of the UNESCO-listed Piazza dei Miracoli, admiring the Baptistery and visiting the grand Cathedral (entrance fees included).

After your guided tour, enjoy free time to explore the city independently, take photos, or shop for souvenirs before the return journey to Florence.

Back in Florence, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Pisa is a must
Cynthia D, Aug 2018
Great tours and the skip the line is so worth going with! A word of advice on the Pisa trip - the bus location is NOT easy to find. Allow yourself a few extra minutes to get there. our Google Maps were deceptive and the area is under construction. The trip to Pisa is great - much more of a site than we were expecting.

The tour was good, but it was too long for what you get to see. I think this was based on the fact our tour guide was saying everything twice - English and Spanish. Avoid multiple language tours if you can.

We enjoyed both tours! The walking tour was a relaxing walk through town to see the amazing sights! The afternoon tour of Pisa was a perfect mix of touring the sights and of free time to enjoy taking in the area.

This was a great way to see two spectacular tours into one day. The morning walking tour of Florence was great--our guide Lucia DeLuca was terrific....very knowledgeable and pleasant. she tailored the tour to our interests, and made the city of Dante, Michelangelo, and the Medici's come alive. Since we had seen the Duomo the day before, she showed us other fascinating churches. This was one of the best walking tours I have been on. The Pisa tour was more low key, and shorter one hour walking tour compared to 3 of Florence, but really, one hour on a day with 41 degree temperatures 104 for US was more than enough
