When we booked the tour we had made sure that the itinerary would include the house of the Faun and Vettii and to our disappointment the archaeologist not only didn’t take us there but when we politely pointed it out to her the answer was quite rude. She spoke non stop for the full two hours and waisted much time often repeating herself . To be honest we are sorry to say that it was a rather tiring guided tour instead of an enjoyable one.

Alfredo, our guide was very knowledgeable. With the use of his pre-prepaired visual aids, it really helped to bring the background story to life.
He was also very personable; adding some humour into the explanations where warranted which also helped in keeping the group interested. Overall, Alfredo was excellent.

The guide was very knowledgeable and personable. I did not like that eliminated the brothel form the tour. I had to specifically ask its location at the end of the tour.

Our guide, John Carlos, was very knowledgeable. He tried to keep us away from other tours so we had good views and could hear him well. He had an interesting way of presenting the information to us which kept our attention. At the end of our tour he gave us great options to consider to continue on exploring the ruins.

Our guide Sergio took us not just on a tour but helped tell the story of the tragedy of Pompei. The 2-hour tour covered many of the highlights of the lost city, on the area of the city closer to the Circumvesuviana Train Station. Sergio, an archeologist presented a clear narrative as we wound through the various streets, houses, public forums, etc.
The tour and communication process through Viator was very easy, the local tour company was Askos tours. We had a concern that our train would be a few minutes late but when we called the Askos office they assured us they would contact the people on site, which they did. Turned out our train was on time, and we met with our group and promptly got into the site.
