    What To Expect

Meet your chef in Prague Market and set about browsing the stalls. Peruse the fruit, vegetable and other culinary stands, and hear about Czech cuisine and foodstuffs from your chef. Wander around for roughly an hour to pick up the freshest and best ingredients for your class.

Once stocked up, head to the nearby cooking studio, don an apron, and begin. If you wish, you can skip the market visit and simply meet your chef and fellow cooks at the studio.

Head into the modern kitchen, get a briefing on the dishes that make up your chosen 3-course menu, and start preparing the supplied ingredients. Vegetarian dishes are available as options if you wish.

Get step-by-step directions from your chef and learn handy tips on Czech cooking styles, preferences and seasonings as you work. Depending on your chosen menu, you could be cooking up dishes like bramboráky (potato pancakes with smoked meat or cheese) and ovocné knedlíky (fruit dumplings).

After roughly two or three hours of cooking, sit down to enjoy your culinary creations with your fellow cooks. Gain feedback from your chef about your dishes and learn more about Czech cooking as you eat and relax. If you wish, pair your food with the drinks (own expense) available, including alcoholic drinks.

When you’ve finished your meal, say your goodbyes. Your experience ends when you leave the school.

This cooking class was a blast!! Our class was taught by a former contestant of Czech Master Chef, and the food was amazing. We learned to make Potato and Mushroom soup, Roast Pork with Sauerkraut and Czech Dumplings, and Shredded Pancake dessert. After the class recipes were supplied to us by email. Highly recommend this off the beaten path Prague Experience.

Had THE BEST TIME! Our chef was amazing. The market was great and we enjoyed seeing a variety of Czech foods and local produce. The entire experience was very interactive and we learned a lot. My family is from the Czech Republic and I was able to gain some new cooking tips and Czech recipes I can share with them. The facility ChefParade was clean, neat, and had friendly staff. You have an opportunity afterwards to shop in their store, which has most of the ingredients you cook with available for purchase. If you like food and wine, I would DEFINITELY recommend. We can't wait to come back and do it again!

Wonderful morning shopping through the farmers' market and making several dishes. There was time to talk and get to know our chef and other guests. I was able to take the Metro and had a short walk to cooking studio which is one building away from the farmers' market building. The studio sent detail instructions how to get to the location.

We really enjoyed this experience. While the Czech Republic is not exactly known for its fine quisine, we enjoyed the market experience and the history and explanation of regional Czeck recipes. Everyone was knowledgeable and informative and we would recommend lthis class as a way to learn more about how people around the world actually live.

What a great way to get to know Prague! We had a great cooking course in a beautiful venue - ChefParade. Our instructor was outstanding and answered all our questions. The food was delish and we enjoyed the market visit. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys cooking and finding out about different cultures. Definitely worth the cost!
First of all, don't let the area...

First of all, don't let the area around the cooking school turn you away. Once inside it is beautiful! Bright and clean with new equipment and everything at the ready. I had a solo class with my instructor Petra. She took me to the market next door which was wonderful. We sipped blackcurrant wine, purchased mushrooms and apples and wandered around looking at all the goodies. Worth a trip back here after class. Then we got busy making potato soup, paprika chicken with dumplings and apple strudel. I especially liked making the steamed dumplings. It was fun to prepare the meal and then to sit down and enjoy it at the end of our labors. I even got an extra strudel to bring to my husband for later. It didn't last ten minutes! I enjoyed the time with Petra talking about everything from cooking, to family, and to music. I highly recommend this class to individuals or small groups who want to do something less touristy and to get to know the local culture a bit better.
