While the price is much cheaper than others, and convenient for the guaranteed transport, there’s a reason for that. Your transport is a sprinter van, modified with rather slim and hard seats, to sit 20-25 people. There’s very little AC, so if your tour has teens with strong BO, you’ll be choking on that stage miasma for two hours both way, as they never crack a window or turn the AC up to actually be effective.
Then, once at the tour, you find it’s not just Kutna Hora, but three cathedrals, so you only get about 30-40 minutes in each place, but your guide will spend at least 25-30 proselytizing all of the religious lore. I know the point of the tour is information, but I don’t need every year it was build and every person involved, because consistently it left us with 5-8 minutes to actually look around and take pictures, because she would always lecture at us from one spot. There’s no room for dilly dallying or getting a drink, taking your own pictures styled how you’d like: it’s like a teacher expects you to move along and listen.
THEN, after all of these, you get to the square of Kutna Hora about five hours in. The guide will spend so much time showing you relics you did not ask for, that you’ll be left 30 minutes to find a place to eat with a restroom, because she won’t have one nearby or point one out. But you better finish all the food, because none is allowed on the bus.
It’s a cute little town, with great shops and interesting views, and you spent over an hour getting there. Time to enjoy it would’ve been nice without the droning of the unenthused guide.
Then, you get back on the bus thinking, okay, we did the tour, she’ll let us sleep. There can’t possibly be more to talk about. No, she’ll continue to drown about the Prague suburbs and how the city has changed for an hour and a half, in the hot bus, stinking of BO where you choke on the stale, smelly air.
The ease of transport was good and convenient, but this guide needs to shorten her spiel by about 30% to the interesting and necessary information. It’s a tour for adults, not children, and the herding around with little time to enjoy and make it your own experience is very annoying. Really, in six hours, you couldn’t find the time to stop talking, or really let people enjoy the location? Stop it. Insanely enough, she even prefaced the tour with time to drink/eat and use the restroom wasn’t guaranteed!! So if we’re bad, you just get to hold it for six hours? Please stop.
