Meil was a passionate and very knowledgeable ambassador for Puerto Vallarta in general and the Pitillal community specifically. We have gone on many tours, through a variety of companies, over our several trips to PV. This was, by far, one of the best! She knew the history of each restaurant and family we visited. The food was a delicious sampling of the staples in Mexican culture. She shared the many influences of other cultures on contemporary Mexican food. All in all a 10/10 for this tour. Highly recommend!!

Authentic food, awesome guide

If you want to enjoy authentic Mexican food, take the Taste of Pitillal food tour. Our guide Joana shared so much about the neighborhood with us. Each food stop was incredible, I couldn't pick just one favourite.

Excellent tour to explore a less visited neighborhood

Enjoy doing a food tour whenever I visit a new city, and this was one of the best that I've done in a long while. I enjoyed the experience of exploring an area that we likely wouldn't have visited on our own, and certainly wouldn't have known where to go. Our guide Joana was great! She told us the historical significance of the places we were visiting and about the food, as well as the lives of the people who lived in the neighborhood that we visited. She was friendly and interesting and kept a good pace. We had 5 substantial sized tastes, and our dietetic requirements were met. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area.

The entire experience was great. Our guide started with Churros, which was not part of the tour. He gave us detailed information on what we were eating, its history and the flavors to expect. He was very accommodating to our 2 almost 3 year old who loved the tour. Very authentic good tasting food.

Wonderful tour in the center of Pitillal! Our guide was Miel who is very knowledgeable about the history and culture surrounding Mexican food. Introduced us to several small family restaurants that we plan to revisit for dinner. We had five types of tacos (pork, fish, goat, etc), chicken tamales, various fruit juices and tequila. Well worth the money!!

We had a wonderful time with our guide Al. It was great to go to all of the local places and taste their specialties. You will not go away hungry! Kind of wished there was a bit more variety (we had 4 different types of tacos, a tamale, and a popsicle) but it was all great food!

We shop every year at a western store but hav'nt eaten at local eateries. Now after this food tour we have no worries about having lunch and where to go. Thanks to our very cool guide our yearly trip from PV by bus will be a greater cultural experience. There are great little places only minutes from the plaza.
