Overview

Explore the cloud forest in Monteverde after the sun sets on this guided nighttime tour. Starting at either 6 or 8pm, explore the biodiverse forest at Ficus Trails, spotting the nocturnal animals that inhabit the area. See tropical birds sleeping, as well as the nighttime habits of other wildlife like scorpions, tarantulas, bats, and more.

Frogs galore!

We saw many frogs - we were lucky that it had just rained. We also saw two varieties of tarantula and some interesting insects. Unfortunately we didn't see any snakes or mammals, but that's just how it goes. Our guide was great and helped us take photos through his scope.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and found a wide variety of wildlife that we would never have seen without him! We saw a kinkajou, tarantulas, all kinds of insects and a green tree viper! I would suggest bringing your own flashlight though because the ones provided were not very bright

I highly recommend a night tour! It's a great time to see all of the nocturnal creatures. Without our guide, Brandon's, help we would have missed so much! He was knowledgeable about the creatures in the forest and was able to spot them so quickly. We still don't know how he managed to spot the small green viper up in the tree! He was great and made the experience so much fun. We saw several tarantulas, various bugs, some frogs, and a snake!

Our guide was really thorough with spotting animals and ensuring everyone in the group saw them (either with naked eye or his telescope). He provided lots of information on everything we saw. We basically were looking at an animal constantly throughout the tour. The company has smooth pick-up and drop off. Although there were many participants, there was a max of 6-7 per guide which was helpful for seeing the animals

Had a wonderrful time at the night tour. Our tour guide is attentive and knowledgeable, and went the extra mile to help us take pictures of wildlife such as glass frogs, salamanders and even a sleeping monkey(!) with his telescope and our cameras. Highly recommend!

Great tour. We got to see a green viper, tarantula, frogs and two different types of toucan’s. It was very windy and rained so we didn’t see any sloths. We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable.

We were a large group of people but our guide was so passionate and made everything we saw super interesting. We were lucky to see A LOT of animals on our tour!

They pick-up and drop off went very smoothly and they were super punctual! As for the experience, it was good and worth the price but not memorable! But based on other”s reviews I believe we just didn’t have luck with the guide. We got to see some tarantulas, frogs and a snake but the guide didn’t tell us much about it and wasn’t as compelling as other guides. Overall, good for the price and worth a shot!

Amazing variety of wildlife

Anyone interested in a night tour in Monteverde should book this one. They keep the groups a manageable size so everyone can heard the guide and enjoy the tour. The variety of wildlife we saw was incredible, ranging from birds to a porcupine to snakes, tarantulas, frogs and more.

It was an amazing experience! Maurício, our guide, knew a lot of particularities of the local nature and provide us the experience to see and help taking fotos of an amount of animals like 2 tarantolas, one viper, one porcupine, one toucan, lizards and others.

Was terrible due to they never picked me up at my hotel which pick up was at hotel have to fight with Viator to get my money back which takes up to seven days they have cancelled three of my excursions while here. I booked with them thinking it was safe here and I use my money to enjoy my trip in Costa Rica and now I have no money to take other excursions Wasn’t impressed with this company

We regret what happened with your reservation, we indicated by a message on the viator page and a text message via WhatsApp and we did not receive a response by either means, that you should arrive at the meeting point and at the time of making the reservation it is indicated We are located in the Monteverde area, and we provide transportation within a 4 kilometer radius of the meeting point. The hotel he told us was almost 60 kilometers away. When writing to you, we also did not receive any type of response. greetings

It was great to go on this tour through the private forest with the guide. We did see frogs and spiders and bugs. The part of the tour I liked the most was the night time aspect. It gives you another perspective.

We were given flashlights to use though the tour guide had the brightest flashlight. He was very knowledgeable guide. I have trouble seeing the creatures in the daytime and so I was unable to see anything on my own at night. It sounds like a cool experience though it can be hit or miss. We saw a few bird butts, frogs, tarantulas.
