This tour was fantastic. Our guide Fabio was friendly and really knew his stuff. We saw at least 4 different types of frogs, a couple types of toads, a number of different spider species, and several snakes. My girlfriend and I both loved every minute. They picked us up and dropped us up right at our Airbnb, with smooth comfortable transportation in an air conditioned van. The dinner was also delicious. We've already recommended this to several friends! Thanks to Jade tours for everything :)

Must do to see nocturnal animals with Javier!
    Aafreen_S, May 2024
This was a great tour to see while we were in Manuel Antonio. We were able to see so many animals like a wolf spider, Jesus Christ lizard, centipede, bull frogs, toads and the infamous red tree frog! The meal included was great. Glad we were able to do this during our time in Manuel Antonio.

Let's start with the 30 minute drive to the Park After Being Picked Up No Instruction No Education Or Information About the Tour. Tour guides sit at the front of the bus and ignore you. When you get off the bus everyone is just standing around not knowing what to do then finally some guy announces your name and tells you your tour guides name. Stephanie just starts walking we were at the back of the line so we couldn't hear anything she was saying and every time She found something she would stop and take photos of it first before anyone else could see it by the time we would get up to see anything she was already moving on down the trail. We got Left behind pretty much the entire time and a couple times we didn't know where she was. She didn't seem to know a lot about the animals she was finding and we got no education or information about the beautiful park we were walking through. It was raining and she asked us if we should rush through the tour I was thinking not for $60 I want to get my money's worth. My husband actually found more animals than she did. The dinner was nothing special I got plantains on mine and when my husband asked the lady if he can have plantains she looked at him and didn't know what he was talking about. This tour was nothing you can't do on your own all as we saw was couple frogs, toads, lizard and a snake she couldn't identify. She found 2 scorpions that she had to be the first mess with and then they took off so we couldn't even see them. Let's also talk about the safety you are walking through a rainforest in the pitch black with flashlights and they don't tell people to wear long pants and high boots there are so many venomous snakes that could possibly hurt or kill you and they allow people to wear this and you don't sign any waivers so I'm not sure if they would be liable or not Shame on them. I definitely wouldn't want to end up in a Costa Rica hospital getting 20 vials of anti venom because of the negligence of a tour company. Don't waste your money on this tour it was terrible.
    A fun experience

Although it is expensive for what it is, I did enjoy it and saw some cool stuff. The guide was nice but I was hoping to learn a lot more about the flora and fauna of Costa Rica.
Deep, dark jungle with fantastic creatures!

I especially loved seeing the snakes! The bats were also cool. The guide was incredibly adept at finding these silent animals.
    Oh what a night….

This was such an incredible experience! We saw some amazing critters and then had a delicious dinner afterwards. We are vegan and they had a totally vegan option! Enderson was the best guide!
    Super fun experience

It was super fun. They picked us up and took us home. Definitely wear tennis shoes or hiking boots. My daughter had on sandals and the guide wished she had something more to protect from slithering things. There were no mosquitoes which surprised me. The guide said the bats get all of them. You will be walking in total darkness with a flashlight together as a group. I really liked it. We saw a couple small snakes lots of frogs and lizards and some other bugs. I’m sure it’s different every night. We ate the typical meal after the hike. It seems like every tour that has meal included is the same typical plate of rice beans a meat and a salad and maybe plantains. The guide was very knowledgeable and kind. My daughter was terrified at first and he was very reassuring. They offer a walking stick at the beginning . I’m glad I got one. Lots of tire stairs etc to go up and down in elevation. He also used my stick to hold a snake.
    Amazing experience in the rainforest

Night tour with Roy and Jade tours. Fun time and the food was great! Highly recommended. Roy is a great photographer and he shared photos with us at the end of the trip. This was our first time trip to Costa Rica and really enjoyed the night time experience.
    A fun, adventurous evening

Roy was so informative. He knew so much about the snakes, spiders, and does we spotted. And the homemade dinner was muy delicioso!
    Awesome trip -Thanks Edgar!

10/10 trip. It was about an 40 minute drive from our Airbnb in Manuel Antonio in a very nice air conditioned van. Edgar was an awesome guide. Very knowledgeable, funny and friendly. He made our group feel safe (including my 8 year old nephew). The hike was slow paced and not difficult. There were some stairs and small hills but because you’re stopping so often, it’s not tiring. We got very lucky and saw so many animals. Baby hummingbirds in their nest, leaf cutter ants, a scorpion, several large spiders, toads and frogs all over, katydids, lizards, and even a pit viper. Edgar took all of the photos for the group with our cell phones, but we were still able to see all of the animals up close. The stars were beautiful out there with no light pollution. After the hike, we had a typical Costa Rican dinner of chicken, rice, beans, veggies, and some pineapple. It was made by some local women and was delicious. Pitchers of water and lemonade were also available. Overall a very great experience! Thanks Edgar!
    An Adventure
    Kathryn_O, Jan 2024
This was an adventure! The 1.5 hour hike was in the pouring rain which is perfect for seeing frogs. Our guide was awesome at hearing and finding frogs. Wear hiking boots and a rain jacket !!! Even if it isn’t raining, it will be muddy. The pickup was long and cramped. We were picked up at 5:05 and dropped off at 9:43.
    Night Hike Fun

The coolest part is simply being in the rainforest at night, and just listening to all of the sounds around you. Awesome!
    Lots of frogs!
    Breean_G, Nov 2023
My teenage boys liked this one. With only flashlights, our guide Eduardo took us through a bog and through the forest. We saw Lots of frogs, a deadly spider, some lizards and millipedes. I think the tour description should tell you it’s MUDDY. Wear old or washable boots or shoes. A couple of us ended up with biting ants in our shoes even though we had sneakers and socks on. Dinner at the end was also good for us adults, my kids didn’t eat much of it.
    Strongly recommend

The guide Daniel was really professional and knowledgeable. Everything was smooth and lots of fun…….
    Good, slow-paced excursion
    Yanin_M, Jun 2023
The tour guide was knowledgeable and made sure everyone got a turn to see the animals/bugs that were spotted. It’s not a difficult hike, and it is a slow-paced tour. Most of this excursion was frogs and insects, LOTS of frogs. It was very cool to be in the jungle at night though.
    Great night tour!
    Emily_T, Jun 2023
This was the only opportunity for our kids to see the rainforest on their short trip with us. Our guide was great and we saw many kinds of frogs, a snake, lizards and some sleeping birds. It was topped off with a dinner of rice and chicken. It was a fun time!
    Outstanding!
    Alexandra_M, Apr 2023
Armando was a very helpful guide! He had passion about the animals, and was great at taking awesome pictures for us! The local food was a great way to end the trip.
    Creepy crawlers walk
    Cynthia_K, Apr 2023
Finding a gecko! Lots to see in so little time, wish we could have spent more time but we did catch the main attractions Snake, frogs, stick insect, spiders…
    Best experience!
    Carla_C, Mar 2023
This was the best tour for our family (kids 11 and 17). We booked last minute and had the best experience with Andrew. Andrew is so nice, knowledgable and passionate about what he does. The photo I attached he took for me with my phone. He did this every time we saw something (and we saw a lot). We also saw Andrew the next day while, gasp, we had just ended our tour with "another company". Andrew recognized us and took the time to show us a snake through his scope even though we weren't with him that day. Truly professional! The whole operation is professional, efficient and kind. They take you to Rainmaker which I think is a private reserve.
    Thrilling and worth while experience
    Kristyn_B, Feb 2023
This tour was excellent. Our guide, Royvin Arce was very knowledgeable and took his time to find and point out all the interesting wildlife and foliage in this beautiful forest. I definitely would recommend this tour as it was one of my favorite tours while in Costa Rica. The meal at the end was very delicious
