Great Experiences In Quito

There were many memorable things we saw and experienced. Our tour guide, Daniel, is excellent. He modified our itinerary based on what we wanted to see, adding in stops in old town for a visit to a large produce and flower market, and allowed us to spend time with a basket and lamp vendor, we ended up buying some great lamps to bring home. Most memorable of the day probably was the trip to the middle of the Earth, we were blown away by what we saw and learned. The culture and people were also memorable.

Great overview of Quito

Daniel was a great guide, very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The vehicle was a new SUV and had AC. The tour had a good variety of activities and included lots of walking so bring comfortable shoes. Overall great day, would highly recommend!

Great Quito Tour

My friend and I had a great tour of the old town with Daniel. He was a very knowledgeable and kind guide and gave us a great overview of the history of the area. Loved the gargoyles on the Cathedral representing all the animals in Equador. We enjoyed the cable car ride and swing at the top and had an informative tour of the scientific museum at the equator. Highly recommend this tour!

Aurelio is a great guide. He took us to interesting places such as the outdoor Intiman museum, located on the trie equator. We learned about the indigenous animals, plants and people with exact replicas of their houses. We learned about chocolate and tasted raw and processed beans. our guide performed experiments to prove that we were exactly on the equator. At the end of the day we walked in the colonial city but someone bumped into my daughter and stole her iPhone. After determining who the culprit was by talking to nearby merchants, he ran towards the woman who boarded a bus. Aurelio entered the bus and recovered the phone by threatening her with prosecution. He recovered the iPhone. Aurelio is a real hero.

Loved the tour through the Old town and the museum at the equator. Unfortunately no view from the teleferico as it was cloudy. Daniel our guide was a fountain of knowledge and made this a memorable experience.

Our Quito tour with Daniel was great! His deep knowledge of the city's history, culture, and hidden gems were exceptional. He balanced historical insights with explanations of present-day Quito, often addressing a number of off-topic inquiries from us (modern tech influence, economic factors, global dynamics, ecological processes, etc). His commitment to responsible tourism and community support was exceptional. Highly recommended! Simple notes: Clean spacious SUV car. We spoke English and he was fluently bilingual. Excellent and informative. Daniel was particularly patient with our oddball curiosities.

Amazing History Lesson with Christian!

I hit the jackpot two days in a row. As the only person on the excursion (again), I was bale to ask Christian anything and he was open and willing to share. If you can request a tour guide, choose Christian. 10 out of 10 he's the best! Prior to the excursion I received an email stating the teleferico was closed due recent repairs. They are awaiting on the mayor's approval to reopen it. As an alternative I was given the opportunity to see the Virgin de El Panecillo (Virgin Mary monument) and Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve. The views from both were breathe taking. The gift shops at the reserve are ran by the families who live there. They walk 2 hours from the reserve to open up the gift shop every day. Please support the local business. They have great souvenirs for affordable prices. The Intiñan Site Museum was an hour tour. Clara was the tour guide for this portion (she works for the museum). At the museum I learned the different species in the jungle region of Ecuador, the ritual of the shrunken head, the tradition of men burials, how gravity is pulled in the northern versus the southern hemisphere, and the importance of guinea pigs. Lunch stop was at the La Vid Restaurante in the Plaza Grande, Centro Historico de Quito. Christian recommended the creamy potato soup. It was absolutely delicious. I also order the empanada platter. We ended the tour in the old town where we visited several of the churches, and walked passed the mayor's office and Presidential palace. Hands down this is a great excursion to learn this history of Ecuador. Christian was open to answering all of my questions, taking pictures, and communicating clear expectations of the excursion.

Great tour of Quito’s must-do attractions

I booked this tour very last minute but was still accommodated! My guide, Daniel, was wonderful- easy to talk to (in excellent English) with lots of interesting information about Quito and it’s history. We were able to check off many of the “must see” attractions in Quito- the middle of the world, the Teleferico, climb the Basilica tower, and walk through Old Town. If you’ve only got limited time in Quito this tour is a great way to see the highlights, or a good way to get familiar with the city and it’s history early in your trip to help get your bearings.

Tour guide knows good food

The tour was great and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to see Quito at a high level. I would recommend visiting the museum instead of the park and telefono isn't quite worth the wait. However, if you have Fernando as your tour guide, ask him to take you to his favorite Ecuadorian restaurant and you will not be disappointed. The restaurant he took us to is by far the best food I've had in all of South America!
