We start at 7 am. We won't enter to the Cotopaxi national park using the regular way all travel companies do but we will do at the way out to cover more space. Passing through 3 volcanoes PASOCHOA, RUMIÑAHUI and SINCHOLAGUA going through the real AVENUE OF THE VOLCANOES. Driving around a beautiful agricultural area with amazing views until we get to the Park rangers North Control just before we arrive to our first part of the experience. The HORSEBACK RIDING will be inside the Cotopaxi national park all along the meadows and high grass hills. After this experience, we will drive for about half hour until the parking lot located on the 14800 feet or 4700 mts above sea level from where the hike to the BASE CAMP will start. After 50 minutes hike, we will get to our objective the base camp. (If not interested on this hard hike experience, we can choose a soft option around LIMPIOPUNGO LAGOON down in the meadows area. We will start coming back to Quito.

This exclusive experience will introduce you to the Andes Mountain Range landscape and wildlife. Your profesional tour guide will pick you up at your hotel or airbnb to start the tour and go to Cotopaxi. The 90 minutes drive from Quito to Cotopaxi is full of beautifull mountains and cosy small villages. Arriving to Cotopaxi the local guide will be waiting with helmets, ponchos and horses. Then you will ride a horse for 2-3 hours around the grassland and the beautifull volcano. In the way back we will enjoy a lunchbox and then continue to the Limpiopungo lagoon. The lagoon is located in a flat highland where you will hike for 1 hour around it. That is an amazing place to see the local plants, flowers and birds. Majestic, wild landscape
My husband really liked climbing up to the Basecamp from the parking lot. I enjoyed the majesty of the volcano and also the walk around the lake, with it’s interesting, vegetation, and small creeks, running into the lake and the Paramo landscape on the slopes of the volcano. Daniel was a very good guide.

Wonderful adventure up the Cotopaxi Volcano!
The patience of our tour guide Estui, and mentally preparing us for what was to come. On the hike of the volcano it was pretty intense but an incredible adventure. My wife and I are in our 60s and had an incredibly great time. Thank you to our tour guide and our driver, Alex who took good care of us.

Our Guide Miriam was so knowledgable and made the whole experience so delightful with history and facts and folklore of the Andes. It was a peaceful and beautiful experience words will not do it justice.
