Fantastic introduction to Quito and Ecuador
    Joanne_W, Apr 2024
What a great introduction to Quito and Ecuador! Our guide Santiago was fantastic and we enjoyed his extensive knowledge of food, arts, history, architecture, music ……. The food was so good and as others have said, don’t eat breakfast before the tour.
    A Taste of Quito
    Donnie_S, Mar 2024
This was perhaps the best food tour I have ever been on during a vacation. What I really loved was the guide talk not only about the food but also about the culture of Quito and Ecuador broadley. I had so many things that I never had before. I also appreciated the guide's spontaneity when one business was closed. I highly recommend that you go on this food tour above others. And go with a friend because it is a lot of food!
Awesome off the beaten path culinary tour

Excellent tour! Highly recommend! Santiago is very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job showing us some typical Ecuadoran foods. He also shared some history, art and architectural insights.
Great food and a great way to see the area around the historical center of Quito!

Great food, pretty parks, modern street art & the guide was a nice lady! Memorable way to spend a morning in Quito.
Great food and wonderful guide - like a longtime friend showing us around his hometown

I can't say enough about what a great tour with had with Santiago ("Santi')! We started with the most incredible fresh pressed juices and sugar cane at a tiny hole in the wall storefront that we never could have found on our own. Then we spent the next 3 hours walking through three quiet neighborhoods in Quito and stopping in a variety of places where we didn't see any tourists - just locals. Santi knew all the proprietors and they gave us amazing service. We had a delicious pork meal, crispy fresh potato chips and empanadas, exotic fresh fruits and smoothies, traditional seafood soup and finished the day with local chocolates and beverages. Walking between neighborhoods helped re-build an appetite between stops. All the while, Santi shared insights about foods and associated traditions along with local architecture, history, politics, and street art. His English is perfect, even though we did most of the tour in Spanish because we wanted to practice. An unforgettable experience. Highly recommend Santi!
Great tour of the city and its food

My family and I had a great time doing the street food tour with Natalia. Natalia was very knowledgable about the food, culture and people of Quito and gave us a terrific sampling of different areas and types of food custom to Equador. She provided us with great ideas for what else to do while in Quito and shared her love for the area. I highly recommend the tour - but be forewarned - there is alot of food provided! Come hungry.
    Amazing food

This was a great tour with Santiago. He knew local recent history, art, and food. One of my favorite food tours. The only "downside" is that none of the food we have had afterwards has been as good. We went on the tour our first day here. I highly recommend this tour.
Perfect start to my tour of south america

Wonderful food tour in the heart of Quito
    Liz_S, Dec 2023
Intimate, educational, fun tour of Quito's street food. Perfect balance of types of food including fruit, fruit juices, snacks, ceviche, chocolate, and lunch sampling. Wonderful tour to do on day 1 of our stay in Ecuador/Quito. Learned a lot about the city, its history, and culture. Even learned about the modern art movement. Would highly recommend to all visitors to Quito. Bring your walking shoes and an empty stomach because it was a lot of walking and lots of food!
    Great food

What can I say, the places we went to taste were great, everything as fresh as you can make it and all the people made us feel like we were their most important customers. Overall the tour was amazing and we would do it again.
    The guide was excellent...

The guide was excellent and very informative. The food could have been more varied and unusual but overall it was a great experience.

I had a great time in this tour. I was the only one in the tour so basically I had a private tour :). Santiago was my guide. He was amazing. I did this tour the day after I got to Quito. It was a great way to learn about the city and try some delicious foods. Because it was just me in the tour, Santiago and I talked a lot. He shared a lot of interesting facts about Quito and Ecuador in general. He answer all my questions. I learned a lot during this trip. I would recommend taking this tour.
    Unique experience
    Kalin_P, Sep 2023
Our guide, Natalia, exuded warmth and charm, cultivating an atmosphere of pure relaxation and tranquility. The experience of savoring a glimpse of authentic local cuisine in a new place is nothing short of a stroke of luck. This tour is an absolute must, particularly for those with limited time. Without the guidance of an expert like Natalia, the average tourist would miss out on the most captivating spots. I cannot emphasize this enough: Skip dinner the night before and resist the temptation of breakfast. If possible, consider a leisurely stroll back to your accommodations post-tour, a delightful way to aid digestion and reflect on your culinary adventure.
    Discover Quito culture

Interesting but Long 1/2 Day of Walking
    Emily_P, Sep 2023
We booked this tour as a private group for our family and had Santiago as our guide. He's an outgoing, personable and informative tour guide. We mentioned at the start of the tour that we had just arrived in Quito and were still acclimating to the altitude so he tried to find ways to limit the stairs and steeper walks (but still be aware that there was quite a lot of walking during the tour - about 3.5 miles with multiple stairs/steps, hills, etc.). The foods we tried were great, especially the fresh juices, empanadas and shrimp ceviche. The final stop at a coffeehouse was only ok, the coffee wasn't that good unfortunately.
    The Many Flavors of Ecuador!!

I hit the jackpot with Santiago! I was the only member of the excursion and took full advantage of it. Santiago was open to answer my many questions not only about food but family, culture, politics, schooling, education, and many more. On this excursion I had some familiar foods and were introduced to new ones. Warning: DO NOT EAT BREAKFAST THE MORNING OF. Below is a list of stops and foods I tried: - Jugos de Cana: Coco Helado, Batido Colageno de Coco, Batido Energizante, and Batido de Jackfruit - Plaza Arenas: Fried pork, potatoes, salad, roasted corn, and plantain - Store did not have a name: Cheese Empanada with Babaco and Tomatoe Fruit Juices. - Guambra Bridge: seafood soup with lemon juice squeezed on it. - Santa Clara Market: Gulupa, Chirimoya, Granadilla, Uvilla, Yellow Dragon Fruit, Mango, and plum - Broz Tostaduria and Cafeteria - filtered coffee, cappuccino, 65% chocolate, 75% chocolate, and 35% white chocolate. My favorites were the cheese empanada with a sprinkle of sugar on top and chirimoya!!!
    Fantastic tour for a family
    Luke_L, Aug 2023
I went on this tour with my wife and two kids (age 10 and 8) with our guide Santi in August 2023. We all had a great time! This tour is more than just food tasting- we tried various juices, saw some beautiful murals, stopped in a park for the kids to take a break and play, went to an art studio, and visited a coffee shop. Santi helped describe all the local dishes. My son is a picky eater, but he enjoyed (nearly) everything we tasted and ate many new foods like ceviche and fritada. During our stay in Quito, we went on a couple of other tours, but this tour gave us a feeling of true local life more than the other tours. Highly recommend!
    Amazing food trip
