      After you have entered Thingvellir National Park, turn onto road #361. After the 3rd right you will see the Silfra car park. Drive a little further to parking lot P5 to park and walk back to meet our guides. Laugarvatn Fontana is a 30-minute drive from Silfra in the village of Laugarvatn.

    • Not recommended for pregnant travelers
    • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
    • Most travelers can participate
    • All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. The form can be filled out online
    • All participant's height, weight and age information must be provided to local operator to ensure they bring the best fitting drysuit. The tour operator will contact you after booking to ask for this information.
    • IMPORTANT - Participants over 60 years of age must have their doctor sign the approval form in order to participate
    • Drysuits are worn over your own clothing. We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks as a base layer under the dry suit
    • Minimum height is 4ft 11in (150cm). Minimum weight is 100lbs (45kg).
    • Maximum height and weight is 6ft7in (200cm) and 264lbs (120kg).
    • Participants must be comfortable in water and able to swim, physically fit and healthy
    • Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting
    • All participants must be able to communicate in English
    • Not suitable for pregnant women
    • All participants must be at least 12 years old
    • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 6 travelers

    Cancellation Policy

    You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

    • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
    • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
    • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
    • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
    • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
    • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

    Amazing experience. Very small group so needs were met. Our guide, Konrad was exceptional. He was very thorough in explaining everything from suiting up and safety info to background info about the park and the fissure. He also took great pictures for us.

    We did this excursion as a family with all our sons.. 13, 15, and 17 years old. We all had a great experience and loved our guide, Anna. the cookies and hot chocolate were a great touch but the hot spring after the cold dip was life changing and incredibly beautiful!

    Our guide for snorkeling, Odysseas, was funny and informative, as were the staff. We went in the dead of winter but were comfortably warm with the suits, and the rift was beautiful! The hot cocoa and cookies were great after the swim. We had a good amount of time to enjoy the park before heading to the spa as well. I think that the spa was better than the more touristy ones- it was not crowded, had a good view, and also had a cafe that served lava bread (highly recommend). I will note that this is a more traditional spa with (gendered) communal showers without privacy, unlike the touristy ones.

    We were contacted in the morning at 10 AM, 30 minutes before the tour, being told that our tour is cancelled and we can only go snorkeling at 1:30 pm. We were told that we can use the spa first before the snorkeling. We had to call 4 times in order to find out where the spa actually is and this meant we drove more than an hour and a half in between the tourist information point, parking 5 and the meeting point, as wrongly directed on the phone, before we called for the 5th time when we were told of the correct location of the spa. At this point we only 1 hour left and as the drive itself is 30 minutes from the meeting point. We were told that we can use the spa after the snorkeling. So our entire morning was completely wasted. Once we were done with our snorkeling and went to the spa, we were told that there are no more lockers available as they are full and we were unable to use the spa as our booking was in the morning and they only had availability in the morning. Overall a terrible experience with booking the tour with Viator. The snorkeling is highly recommended however. Just don’t book with Viator.

    We all had a great time on this tour. The dry suit is of course quite on comfortable when you first get it on but once you get in the water everything's good. I would definitely recommend this tour plus the dip at the hot baths after
