Amazing tour! Our guide Nick was great and really accommodating! The snorkelling itself was absolutely unreal, such a great experience- I would recommend this tour to anyone thinking of booking! The dry suits are brilliant so you don’t even feel the cold water! And some nice hot chocolate at the end to warm us up after changing out of the dry suits :)

Experience of a lifetime
Fiona_M, May 2024
Magic experience, the tour guides were brilliant. As for the snorkelling.. Wow it was amazing. Snorkelling in the Silfra is a must when visiting Iceland.
Great tour! Push through any anxiety over it!

Really cool tour. My wife was very nervous about the suit due to the tightness around the neck but she did amazing and was so glad she pushed through her anxiety over it. The views are great and the colors were amazing. Franchesco our guide was great. We had a lot of good laughs throughout the tour. Great guy!
Cold but cool experience
KathereenKeith_A, Dec 2023
The experience was once in a lifetime. It was nice. The staffs were super nice and helpful. I think the staffs were the best part of the experience. I wished they had a place where you can change indoors especially after taking off your shoes and stepping on the snow with just socks on. Changing in negative degrees is super duper cold. Like my brain cells and muscles stopped working already while changing. The swim was nice. It was relaxing. It was still cold but tolerable I guess. There was not much to see underneath but knowing it is a tectonic plate was something worth seeing. The cathedral, bahamas of Iceland were beauties in the eyes. There was a dark hole by the exit which honestly scared me so much but I took a peek at it and I felt brave swimming beside it. It felt like it was gonna suction me. Overall, the experience was nice but you have to brave the cold. I did it during winter so it was -7 on the outside and the water was 2 degrees Celsius when we swam. It was mad cold. I am feeling cold just thinking about it now. Lol but I had fun. It was an experience which will serve as one of my bragging rights. Lol
Unique experience

Very cold and some waiting around to get the gear on but once your in and you look down under the water it’s incredible
A must do trip
Victoria_H, Nov 2023
An excellent experience. It doesn't matter what time of year you do it, you have that many layer you won't get particularly cold. Getting dressed did take a long time but it was totally worth it. The swim itself was very tranquil! Highly recommended.
Unique snorkeling trip - but expect a lot of waiting around!
Anthony_M, Nov 2023
The 20 minute snorkeling element of the trip was amazing. Swimming in crystal clear water between the tectonic plates is a unique event and the photos taken by our guide were great, but there is an awful lot of waiting about (barely dressed) in the cold whilst everybody gets kitted out. Initially, we were asked to remove most of our outer garments in the minibus to speed up the preparation process, and although we were split into groups of 6 with a very good safety diver/guide, there were almost 30 people participating in total and as there are no covered changing facilities (completely understandable due to National Park rules) we were exposed to the elements for a long time. Fortunately the weather was dry, but it was still very cold and windy for the hour or so it took us all to get kitted up and briefed. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience - but given the (obvious) mountain location and logistical issue of getting novices of all shapes and sizes suited up I think the experience would be improved if the groups/parties were smaller or at least staggered to reduce waiting around.
No worth it

This trip was poorly organised from the very start when the pick up bus arrived late. I few points should be made clear before booking this experience like bringing thin under layers which will act as a base under the dry suit. Also there are hight restrictions which were not clear at all when a booked. The dry suits are massive so anyone under 5ft will struggle to find a dry suit that fits them properly. My dry suit was massive so i did struggle with the snorkelling when i finally entered the water after lots of waiting around. The instructor Fede was helpful at first but after a while she left me to fend for myself even though i was clearly struggling. As a small group of six i would have thought she would have stayed with the group while we snorkelled, She just left as. To sum up the experience involved a lot of effort putting on a dry suit is not easy. You are in the water for a maximum 30 mins and all you see is colourful rocks.

Great experience. Not as cold as expected. Thermal and dry suits keep you comfortable. Guide was experienced diver and very helpful in and out of water.
Enjoyed the experience
Gillian_M, Sep 2023
thoroughly enjoyed the experience. in the water for approx 30mins total. The sry suit did work for us but someone was soaking when they came out so take a towel! The masks were a bit steamed up but we were told how to clear it
Perfect tour group

Where else can you snorkel in 36 degree water in between the tectonic plates? After a short ride out of Reykjavik, you arrive at the national park and the tour guides dress you in your dry suit/equipment and explain everything thoroughly. I was nervous of the cold, but my body stayed warm. The guides were all nice and patient. I loved being in the small group tour as the guides had a chance to speak to everyone and put you at ease. The photos were excellent and the hot chocolate tasty.
Exhilarating and phenomenal

Linn was amazing, she was very efficient getting us all kitted out (no small task!), she made the whole process fun and enjoyable and her passion for Iceland and Silfra shone through. Fabulous xxx
Wonderful experience

A once in a lifetime opportunity to snorkel between tectonic plates in a gorgeous county. Our guide Bar was helpful and kind.
Great experience

Marcin was a GREAT guide! This was an awesome experience and a very memorable part of our trip. Beware — it is a COLD experience! We definitely recommend getting the transfer option as the drive is about 45-50 from Reykjavik. Wonderful time, and we would do it again!
Slapdash approach to safety and customer satisfaction.

I am a size 14 5'2" female. I am an advanced PADI SCUBA diver with over 300 dives under my belt, including in. very challenging waters, though I have never dived in a dry suit. Due to my size (which is hardly huge) I was given a large male drysuit which I could not pull properly over my calves, making a seal at that point. The boots were HUGE (like clown shoes) in my feet, and sealed with rubber straps. Thus a second seal keeping the air at my feet. He purged the air from the top of the suit but the air remained at my feet. When I carried out the safety procedure prior to the tour proper I told the guide (Chris) that I could not see him as my feet were floating so high that I could only look down not forward under the water. It was as if I had a balloon on each foot. I had earlier told him that when diving I need ankle weights as my feet float high in any case. He brushed off my concerns and told me to follow his voice as I did not need to see him. Predictably I could not follow his voice with my ears in the hood of the suit and underwater. He had to cart me back as I simply could not see where I was going. It was a disaster. A complete waste of money, and I missed an experience that could have been wonderful. The way he spoke to me on land was rude. He treated me as an incompetent fool. I can deal with that but his cavalier attitude to SAFETY was unacceptable. What a huge disappointment.
Such an amazing experience
Samantha_R, Aug 2023
Such an amazing experience and so worth doing! Was picked up with five other passengers who were all lovely! We took the 45min ride to the park and from start to finish felt safe and informed. I really wasn’t cold either! If you are thinking about doing it, do it!!!
Coolest ICE activity under 40F.

This was the highlight of my time in Iceland. It's only a30min snorkel and trust me when i say that's more than enough time! I think my hands nearly froze but so worth it. But between the frigid waters, the cool underwater moss life and snorkeling in the rift between two tectonic plates.... just awesome. We had great weather which certainly helped us out. Our dive instructor, Kera, was first rate. Her instructions were easy to follow and i absolutely felt safe with her in the water at all times. On the whole this was such a fun time.... definitely bring extra dry clothes for afterwards! And any warm beverage!
Didn’t do it
Sara_S, Jul 2023
Unfortunately I did not do the snorkeling as My wet suit was too thigh on my knees and couldn’t move when I tried to enter the water.after 2 attempts I decided not to do it and my husband didn’t want to leave me alone So he missed the the whole experience.
