Beautiful Privat Golden Circle Tour

We had booked the privat Golden Circle Tour. Our guide was Bjarni. It is highly recommended. A very nice person provided us with a lot of information. The tour itself was impressive and we would do it again. And he also paid great attention to our needs, what else we wanted to see. It was really very nice. He also gave us space and time when we wanted to eat something. It was really a very beautiful tour.

Our guide, Bjarni, also the owner of the Company, was early for our pick up in Reyjkavilk and as we drove out of town, shared a lot of history and explaining what we would see during the tour and offering us opportunities to customize our experience. He's very knowledgeable and experienced and his advice was key in tailoring our day with him. In addition to seeing all the "must sees", we went several places that the larger tours don't go and as a result, we often were either the only people where we stopped. Bjarni, explained each location and what we were seeing in an informative and entertaining way, knowing when to talk and when to let the incredible silence of this amazing natural setting be the "soundtrack". We highly recommend Bjarni and BTH Travel and would absolutely use him again. He helped provide us an experience of a lifetime.

Seeing the key sites - the waterfalls, geyser and the continental divide was amazing. So much to see in just 1 day. A nice touch was when we stopped at local dairy farm for ice cream. Our guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He tried to teach us a few Icelandic words, but, alas, that was beyond our grasp.

Our guide, Bjarni, is a native Icelander and owner of the company. Of the four of us, two had been on a Golden Circle tour before; one of us twice. However, Bjarni's tour included three very interesting sites that we hadn't seen before. Because of Bjarni's in-depth knowledge of the area's sites, all his explanations were not only informative, but also beyond the basics. There wasn't any question that he couldn't answer, and we certainly asked many. With Bjarni as our guide coupled with wonderful weather, we had quite a fascinating day.

The best tour of the Golden Circle you can take

After spending time on bus tours and even small group van tours, taking a private tour was the best thing we did on our vacation. The cost was similar to the four of us paying for the other types of tours. Our host was very pleasant, and the best part of the tour was that we could customize it to our interests and needs. Our tour guide had a tour mapped out for us stopping at the normal tour stops but was completely flexible to make sure we saw the places and things that were important to us as a family. We prefer water, plants and animals as our goal for a tour. We stopped at a waterfall that most tours do not cover, we could spend as long as we wanted at any given stop, and we had the luxury of being able to talk to our guide about living in Iceland. When we needed a restroom in between stops, our tour guide gave us an option of several stops. Once was a gas station, and one was the tomatoe green house with Icelandic horses we could see. We of course, took the later and really enjoyed the stop. We got up close with a couple of the Icelandic horses and learned about hot house tomatoe farming in Iceland. It only took a few minutes longer than the gas station stop and was a nice bonus. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about local plants and animals. He gave us multiples choices for a lunch spot and when we choose, he guided us in what to select. I can tell you how relaxing and enlightening this tour was, not being herded on and off a bus all day. The minivan the tour guide used as clean and had doors on both sides for easy entry and exit. My Mom is 88 years old and she said this was the best tour we had over the two weeks we were traveling.

Great private tour. Djarni (not sure of spelling) was very accomodating, informative, and interesting. He got us in and out of the attractions avoiding the big bus crowds. His tour includes special stops the big tour do not include.The vehicle was very clean and nice. It is great to travel in a small group.

Private tour with Bjarni

We did a private tour with Bjarni. It was perfect. He was very kind and did not rush us at any stop. He was very knowledgeable and talked to us about so many facets of Iceland. My husband has some issues with walking and he walked slowly with him so I had time to take pictures. He would also help him into the car. He also stopped at places not included like at a farm that made their own ice cream and a horse farm so we could see the horses up close. Great experience.

Beautiful scenery and fantastic guide!

This was my first trip to Iceland and this tour was a terrific introduction to some of the beautiful spots in the area. My guide Bjarni was exceptional and made the trip so enjoyable! He and I talked almost the whole trip and it was delightful. I learned a number of interesting Icelandic facts and fables. Luckily the weather was cooperative but even if it hadn't been it wouldn't have mattered. We had lunch (I had traditional lamb soup which was delicious) and I did some souvenir shopping as well (Bjarni was so patient while I tried on a few things). He also took a number of pictures of me along the way as I was traveling solo. In addition to all the beautiful scenery, Bjarni made the trip complete and I can't say enough good things about him. I highly recommend this tour! You won't be disappointed.

Great tour guide for the Golden Circle

Bjarni Thorsteinsson was our driver/guide. He came early to our hotel to pick us up. We had 2 in our party that use walkers, we were able to store the walkers easily in the car. We had a wonderful time with him learning about Iceland and the golden circle. It was raining, but not too heavy. The rain did not stop us, we made the best of it. His stories about growing up in town and then on a sheep farm gave new dimension to our adventure. We did all our scheduled stops and a few extra. We went to a Tomato Farm, which was so interesting to see up close. The owner showed us the bees and offered tomatoes to try. Very tasty. We had ice cream at the dairy We had lost a day in town because of the weather, so him being so friendly and informative was wonderful. Would HIGHLY recommend him and the tour. We are hoping to return and fingers crossed no rain or high winds that we had earlier on our cruise to Iceland. Worth the price and have wonderful memories.

Stress-Free Vacation

We were able to experience in 5 hours what took bus tours all day. Our tour guide knew how to maneuver the busier attractions and ensured we did not miss a thing. He also threw in a couple lesser known spots that were beautifully peaceful. Not rushed and yet no wasted time.

I cannot recommend this tour enough!!! Bjarni was an excellent guide and driver, taking my girlfriend and I to the best spots along the golden circle and ensuring we had plenty of time at each location.
