    Andrea
    Joanne_s, May 2024
Andrea was not friendly or pleasant. She was more concerned about the headsets being returned to her than being a guide. As soon as we entered the coliseum, she took the elevator to the first floor and proceeded to collect all the headsets. She didn’t want any to not return them so she collected them at the beginning of the tour. When questioned, she said she would speak up. There were about 40 of us in a very crowded space. She was rude and seemed very inconsiderate and inconvenienced by the entry delay. She should not be a guide.

We couldn’t find our guide and the number for the company was unavailable when we tried to call it. So all in all a rather disappointing experience and no way to get the money back from viator
    HORRIBLE - Waste of money
    VERONICA_L, Apr 2024
This does NOT include the tickets into the colosseum! Found our guide then waited in line for over an hour to get the tickets, walked into the colosseum, guide was so unorganized spent about 20 minutes then said it was over. Tickets are available to anyone so DONT USE THIS SERVICE!
    Steer clear of this one!
    Rohit_R, Apr 2024
Pretty terrible experience. This tour didn’t include tickets (only the guide). While the guide itself did a good job, we had to wait in line for more than an hour to get tickets in 35 degree heat. And due to other delays, a tour that was supposed to start at 9:30 am began instead at 12:30 pm. Viator needs to do a much better job of curating its experiences
    Chaotic
    Laura_B, Apr 2024
Most of the "tour" was spent standing around and waiting or herding our group of 44. Too many for this type of tour. Our guide spent 90 percent of the time telling us to follow her umbrella or wait....wait...wait...
Uneasy and Chaotic beginning, but did provide some good information

Buy your own tickets early to get into Colosseum. Don’t wait for tour guide to tell you to buy your tickets. Ticket booth opens at 8:30. Tour itself felt very chaotic feeling compared to the other tours we booked. Greeters never gave feeling they fully knew what was going on. They were not clear at communicating the steps. The actual tour guide seemed like he didn’t want to be there, but actually became a bit better about halfway into the tour. He gave some stories that helped visualize what happened back in the day. Keep in mind, you pay for a 40 minute guide to explain a little of the history and then you are on your own. We booked this last minute, because our original personal tour cancelled last minute and we bought in a bit of a panic. It’s hard to find information on doing it yourself, but in the end, you can do this on your own. Get in line when tickets open. EVERYONE in your party needs to be present with ID to buy tickets. You can learn a bit from this tour guide, but it was a very uncertain, chaotic feeling if we were getting our value by hiring this particular tour company. In the end, we were pleased with the information given by the guide, and then left on our own to walk around at our own pace. Buy the upgrade to go into the Arena floor.
Could hardly understand and not worth it
    Megan_P, Apr 2024
Would not recommend. Just listened to the tour guide arguing with customers cause we had to wait longer than 10mins in a line. Line to get tickets was 30+mins.
    Terrible
    Maya_J, Apr 2024
My tour was scheduled at 8:30 am and didn't start until 11 am and guided tour wonders of the Colosseum didn't even last half an hour. Very bad organization. The guide Sandra was nice. She was ashamed for the bad organization.
    Time and money wasted
    Anna_M, Apr 2024
It was not clear when purchasing that admission is not included. We waited for our guide to take us to the ticket booth just to wait again in the line to get the tickets. Then we (with some other people from the group) were given "individual" tickets while the rest of the group was given "group" tickets. The guide sent us to another line to get in and instructions on what to do next were not clear. After waiting for another 30 minutes in an attempt to meet the guide we gave up. Money and precious time in Rome were wasted.
    Worst Company Ever
    Stephanie_S, Apr 2024
Worst tour operator ever, was not at meeting point and would not respond or refund money. I will be filing a dispute with my credit card company for fraud. Do NOT book this tour.
    Be careful
    MD_K, Apr 2024
Be careful of the fine print. 3 to 4 clicks inside email you will find out you have to buy tickets separately.
    Long wait - misleading info.
    Katie_J, Apr 2024
Do not book this tour! No advantage over visiting the Colosseum independently. Despite being told we would have priority access to tickets we still had to wait in a queue for over 2 hours and then a further 40 minutes before we were allowed to enter. Overall we felt it was a waster of money as overall you are paying for an audio tour with no other benefits.
    DO NOT BOOK
    Seigan_L, Apr 2024
Terrible guide who was very rude. We went on a Sunday, which is free Sunday so we ended up paying just to hear the person speak. People were confused about the skip the line pass and the guide was very rude when correcting people. The time estimate is not accurate. We booked for 9:30 but had to leave because you still have to wait in line after booking this, which was 4 hours long and we had another activity at 1:30 that day. Everyone was confused on what was going on and what we signed up for. Do not waster your time or go on Sunday unless you want to spend your entire day in line. We requested a refund not a good experience like the other activities we have done through Viator
    Waiting
    B_S, Apr 2024
It took 3 hours to get inside. Inside the tour was only 30 min. Large group. No toilets. Not a great experience.
    Scam
    Pablo_S, Apr 2024
This is not a tour, it is a scam. Let me share my experience my tour was at 9:30 am. I was waiting for 30 minutes for the headsets, then someone who spoke a very broken english took us to the ticket office so we would make the line (like everyone else) to get the ticket, we entered the Coliseum at 11:30 ( the other half of the group had an entry for 11:45). At that point of time half of us realized this was not a tour but a scam so in the most polite way i gave back the headphones and run away!
Waited in line for tickets longer than the tour would have taken. Guide didn't wait for group.
    Perry_P, Apr 2024
This is definitely not a skip the line tour - probably my fault for not noticing that. After getting our earphones, we waited in line for tickets about 1 hour and 45 minutes. After that, it started pouring rain and the guide took off and we lost track of her. Since we were soaked anyway, we bailed on the tour and came back a couple days later and explored it ourselves. Quick tip: The timed entry for ticket is for a window of time, not the 'time at which you can start entering and begin your 24 hours of access' - We had 11 AM tickets, tried coming back at 4 PM when is stopped raining, and they didn't let us in. We then bought tickets online for a day later in the week and was able to walk right up to the entrance after only getting there about 10 minutes early. No significant wait if you already have tickets.
    4 Hours of Waiting
    Sebastian_A, Apr 2024
We were waiting with our tour guide in line. She wasn’t there all the time and when she was, she told us stuff nobody really wanted to know. She even once said: If we don’t want to wait any longer and her talking is too much we should just leave and shouldn’t ask if that’s normal to wait this long with a guide. That’s why I thought I bought the guide so we could skip the line. We bought the tickets after 3 hours of waiting in the line and than we had to wait one more hour to wait in the line of entrance. Our guide went with us to the other line and all of sudden she had to look something up and never returned. We were alone in the colloseum and didn’t have any guide who could explain anything. So she just talked us our ears off while standing in line and than went off and never came back. Perhaps it was too much waiting even for herself. Buy your tickets in advance and get a good guide and not something like this. You’re better of without a guide if you choose this one
    Information not clear
    kevin_w, Apr 2024
After meeting up with guide, 2 hour lineup to reach the ticket booth, then another 1 hr lineup after receiving entry time. The product description lead us to think that we had priority in the lineup to purchase entry tickets
    Never Again!
    Chris_D, Apr 2024
Horrendous tour if you could even call it one be aware this is not a skip line. They basically charge you £45 give you radios walk you to the ticket line where you purchase your own tickets then walk you back to the colosseum take back the radios and then leave. If you are unfortunate enough to have the short angry red haired women just ask for your money back straight away. She was rude to all of the other tourists in our group or just refused to answer you simple questions. And she also attacked a couple walking with a pram with her umbrella. Would not use this company (Arena Tours) and would not book through Viatour again as have spoke about a refund and heard nothing else back. You also have to queue again for the Roman forum as they guide runs off so except to queue for another 1-2hr for this aswell
    Not Worth Your Money
    Michael_S, Mar 2024
I would not recommend this tour to anyone looking for a well run, informative couple of hours at the Colosseum. The whole experience, from initially locating the group meeting point, receiving our tickets, to the end of the tour itself (which only lasted for about 15 minutes) was extremely disappointing. The tour guide was very rude to members of our group, and even attacked a pedestrian with her umbrella.
