Wasn’t up to par and only half was seen

The gallery doesn’t necessarily need a tour guide. Too much information provided. Would have been nice to have an abridged version of each structure. We were not notified ahead of time that the second floor would be under construction (this was known by tour company ahead of time) and a partial refund was not provided. Tour guide wanted extra money to visit another museum where Borghese artwork is temporarily housed until June.

Very knowledgeable and engaging! Virginia was awesome!!! Only regret was it ended so quickly due to the museum closing time.
Wonderful Tour!

Excellent tour guide who provided wonderful background on the artists and the history of the Villa. Altogether fantastic tour!

Our tour guide was excellent-seemed very knowledgeable about the art and made it personal as well as setting the works in context.
Fabulous

Frederico was wonderful and very knowledgeable about art and Ancient Rome. He described everything perfectly and interacted so well with the group. I highly recommend this tour!
Statues! Better than David.
Jenny_S, Apr 2024
This was the best gallery in my trip through Italy. The Bernini statues were worth the entrance fee alone.
Unforgettable

Mathew must have been an Art historian. He had great insight to every room, statue and painting. He encouraged us to look at each piece from all sides. You could spend twice as such time there. Ran up against the museum itself closing for the day. Suggest taking early morning tours. Small group was a plus. It is imprinted on our brains! Almost missed it. We tried to walk to Borghese from our hotel.
Well worth doing this tour

Matteo was a very knowledgeable guide. I learnt a lot about the history of the Villa and the works it holds.
Borghese tour

Our guide was excellent especially describing the amazing sculptures by Bernini and Canova. Our fourth visit to the Borghese which is in my opinion is one of the top 10 places to visit in Rome
Just ok
Eric_R, Apr 2024
Gallery is a must see however our tour only last 1.5 hours not the 2.5 hours. Was overpriced in my opinion for what you got. Would recommend something less expensive. Maybe a self guided tour with audio would be better.
Well worth the price for the amazing stories

Mattia was a wonderful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic guide. We highly recommend him. His stories and historical perspective brought the artwork to life.
Fascinating tour of Borghese Gallery

Spectacular Borghese Gallery and Garden Tour
Maria, Apr 2024
Angus was fantastic! She gave an animated and informative tour. Much appreciated as I leaned much about the Borghese family and their art and statue collection.
Definite museum stop while in Rome.
dltrease, Apr 2024
Loved the beauty of all the collection of art work and our guide was quite informative. Smaller museum that allowed for more time to view each room longer. Loving Rome was well organized and communicated well what was happening next. Garden is still being restored and is more public so not as well maintained.
Unprofessional Guide
Heather_S, Apr 2024
The information that was shared during the tour was mediocre and the tour guide was unprofessional. Most of the tour was spent listening to our tour guide flirting with an underage tour participant. The guide clearly only tailored the tour to one of the families present. She repeatedly asked specific people questions, almost as if she were testing us to see how much she could get away with rather than to make it interactive. I have been to this gallery before and know much of the history of the art, and so much was missed due to her constant unprofessional interactions. Not happy to have spent money to watch her try to pick up a date.
Loved the smaller groups...
MaryJo_M, Apr 2024
Loved the smaller groups - more of a close up view of the paintings and sculptures - Mateo was very knowledgeable and a bit of a character - fun tour
