Excellent tour

Our guide was superb, we had a very smooth journey through beautiful countryside. He was very knowledgeable and gave a detailed insight into the horrific events of July 1995. We stopped at the town of Srebrenica, the memorial centre and lastly the cemetery. It isn’t possible to say this was a good day out but it is essential that we all remember Srebrenica. We are glad we took the tour and would recommend it to everyone visiting Sarajevo.

This tour covers a serious but important moment in history. Our tour guide Adnon was amazing and he was clearly so passionate and knowledgeable about raising awareness to this historic event. We learned so much. While this event happened in our life time we were to young then to understand the news and it was over looked in our later history classes. We walked away from this experience with a knowledge and respect for this history that we never could have gotten without our guide.

Life Changing + Informative

From start to finish it was brilliant. I was picked up from my address by Mirza in a timely manner despite it being morning rush hour. The journey to Srebrenica was smooth and scenic our driver Mirza was exceptional. Our tour guide Adna was brilliant, knew the history very well and explained it in great detail. She answer all questions we had. We met some locals where we were able to ask all our burning questions about life pre-war, during war and post-war. Overall an incredible experience that I have recommended to friends and family. I advise to bring your own lunch from home as their are not many restaurants available to eat.

Essential tour to understand and appreciate fully the “story”’of B/H and I was so fortunate to have Adnan as a guide

Traveling to B/H and not visiting Srebrenica is like going to Rwanda (where I worked for 5 years) and not going to the genocide museum there. Srebrenica is essential to understanding the country and the region’s past and its present. Facing the horrors of what happened there in July 1993 makes for a difficult day. However, our guide, Adnan, was brilliant, informative and sensitive, one of the best guides I’ve ever had in my 50+ years of travel to 60+ countries. I recommend this tour most highly.

A very worthwhile tour

This is not a typical tour - it is to the site of a genocide, the events of which are still well within living memory. On the way there, Adnan explained the context of the genocide, including the breakup of Yugoslavia and the war waged on Bosnia, the events and their aftermath. The two sites visted were the graveyard and the headquarter of the UN "peacekeepers". Adnan was a great guide and would absolutely recommend him

Adnan took me on this informational and heart breaking tour. I knew a little bit of the history about what happened at Srebrenica, but I was not prepared for the background Adnan gave me and I was not prepared to see the the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial and Cemetery. Adnan knew so much history of Bosnia I was very impressed. Every question I asked him he was able to answer. He speaks amazing English and is a fanastic driver! I will defineatley seek him out when I go back to Sarajevo.

Moving experience

The visit for the Study Tour to Srebrenica was led by Adnan, both driver and guide for the day. Outside of Bosnia-Herzegovina we know some of what happened through the media, however with Adnan’s experience and knowledge we got more of an insight of the build up of the events around July 1995. The first visit of the day was to the cemetery. A moving experience for anyone. From here we moved onto the Museum where more of the moving testimonies were shown including a half an hour video. A further moving experience. The last part was the Memorial, where again further moving experiences were sought. After a drive into the town afterwards and a view point overlooking the town, by a road which am pleased Adnan had drove us too as it was extremely high up we then made our way back to Sarajevo. We elected in the car not to stop for a late lunch on the way back. Certainly not a trip for children, but for those who have interests in the former Yugoslavia or 20th century history in general I would suggest as a learning experience to gauge an understanding then this tour is one to consider.
