Your tour guide will be meeting you at the exit of the immigration gate of Kusadasi Cruise Port with a board with your name on it.

What To Expect

Begin your private tour at your choice of times, with pickup at your hotel or cruise ship dock. Most people then head to Ephesus, which is located a short drive from Kusadasi.

Your private guide takes you through the well-preserved ruins of the ancient Greek and Roman city, pointing out highlights including the Gate of Mazeus and Mithridates, the Great Theater, the Odeon, the Library of Celsus, the fountain of Trajan, the Temple of Hadrian, and more.

Stop at the Temple of Artemis, which stood close to Ephesus and is marked by a single remaining column. Then visit the Meryemana (House of the Virgin Mary), a site that's sacred to both Christians and Muslims, and discover the legend of the Cave of the Seven Sleepers, another story that's common to Christianity and Islam.

You'll take a break for lunch (fee not included), and be returned to the port or your hotel in Kusadasi at the end of your tour.

Our trip to Ephesus was amazing, all thanks to our tour guide Sevim. She briefed us in the van about the history of Turkey and each place we where visiting. Gave us in-depth knowledge of each site visited and was full of energy just as if it was her first time seeing this remarkable city all over again. 10/10 recommend and will definitely come back in the future!

Ephesus with our newfound friends from Dublin!

Our tour guide, Nagi (center of photo), made our tour a wonderful experience. She was extremely knowledgable and friendly and really made the day great, covering MANY tour stops and some extras, too! It was lovely making friends with the folks from Dublin, as well! Our only suggestion was to limit some of the extra "side" stops (i.e. leather works, jewelry, pottery, etc.) because at every one of the stops there was someone a bit aggressively looking to sell you their wares. It became a little much by the end of the day but, again, only 1 star off from a really cool and fun tour!

We had a Merc van entirely for our family and the best part was the guide we had, Ulas was the best we had across various tours we did at Turkey. He was very warm and friendly, knew quite a bit and fielded over questions and doubts patiently. His instructions were very clear and didn't push to purchase anything unlike some of the other guides. He had lunch with us and in the first 5-10 minutes, he was explaining us about various dishes, its ingredients and how it is prepared and such. He also talked about his experience in various regions and the Latin America backpacking plans he has for later this year. The vehicle was top notch as well, the driver that came with us was also very good. We tipped 100 TL, Ulas gave the entire money to the driver right in front of us!!

Excellent Ephesus tour with Ali

We had a great time with Ali who took us to all the attractions in a private van since we were the only people on the tour. He even brought us umbrellas since it was sunny and warm while walking around the ruins. The lunch was great for only $10 per person. But we ended up buying expensive Turkish rugs after a hard sell by the shop. Plus we wasted too much time at the rug shop so we couldn't go to other stores (leather shop). Still overall, we enjoyed our tour and would do it again with Ali. Thanks!

There were 6 of us, 3 adults and 3 teenage boys. This was our first trip to Europe and our Travel Agent recommended that we book as many tours as we could through Viator. We used them for our tours in Rome, Turkey and Greece. We also used them for our transfers to and from Rome to the cruise port. All of the guides were unbelievable and super nice. Very knowledgeable and professional. Ali was one of the greatest! We loved him, especially our boys!! They loved every bit of the tours and keeping them engaged is no easy task. Ali was great with them. Viator was the perfect company for us It was a great recommendation! We had a fantastic time and learned so much. Highly recommend!!

Ali was an outstanding guide. He explained everything clearly and communicated well with three teenagers! We enjoyed the tour of Ephesus, the ancient home of Mary and more. The stop at the pottery factory was also interesting.
