Great introduction to Korean cuisine

I had an amazing experience on this food tour focused on a good variety of classic Korean dishes. I highly recommend booking this tour early in your itinerary to sample small plates and discover what you like. This way, you can order more of your favorites later on in your trip. The tour offered a great mix of street food, local dishes, and drinks, so there is something for everyone. Our tour guide, Hyun (Hans), was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He shared insightful information about local specialties and provided fascinating historical context about the areas we passed through. Additionally, Hyun gave us valuable recommendations for other markets and souvenir spots to visit for the remainder of our trip. Be sure to come with an empty-ish stomach because all the food really does add up!

Alex was a great tour guide. He had a lot of knowledge about the areas we were heading to, as well as the food and other recommendations he gave us. The food was great and a lot, but you don't have to feel obligated to finish it all of you can't eat more, or you don't like it. It was a really fun experience and can highly recommend the tour.

Great introduction to Seoul

We took this tour on our first day in South Korea. Our guide Chris was fantastic. He made the market accessible when I would have been a bit intimidated on my own. Our group had retiree couples, solo travelers, and my preteen, and we all had a great time. It was a great introduction into the food and culture of Seoul. I highly recommend!

A Tasty Tour!

An enjoyable few hours of eating and walking. A great selection of different bites throughout the market and a nice stroll through a couple of nearby neighborhoods. While this was not a full on "foodie" food tour it was perfect for someone like me who just wanted to try lots of local specialties without trying to brave the market on my own. Alex provided a great tour of the market and some nearby areas. It was a leisurely pace and he was good about providing a local's perspective on many things. Fun to ask him not only food questions, but just questions about life in Korea in general.

I was able to try some new food I never thought I would eat, so it was a nice experience. Heesu, our guide, explained the food to us and made sure to mention a few touristic areas on the way to insadong. Heesu also gave me a good idea for souvenirs and gifts, so I really appreciate it. Overall, nice experience and we were able to share food and drinks.

We had a FANTASTIC time with Chris as our tour guide!! All the food we tried was delicious, and Chris did an awesome job explaining all the cuisine and history. It was so neat to see the markets from an insider’s view and to visit all the hidden gems we never would have known to try on our own. Chris was knowledgeable, kind, and fun. He made sure to give us lots of options. We had two kids with us (under age 12), and Chris made sure to include them and offer them alternatives if there were any items they didn’t like. HIGHLY recommend this tour, and cross your fingers that you get Chris!!

Excellent and informative afternoon spent with Youla, walking around the Kwanggang market and surrounding neighborhoods, trying many unique local food items and learning more about the history of the food here as well as overall Korean culture. We liked the neighborhood areas we explored on our tour so much that we went back on our own to spend more time there. Would highly recommend this tour as a starting point in your travel here, as it gives a great base of knowledge of what everything is (plus it shows a cool market, and even better area of town). At the end of the tour we were given additional recommendations on things to do - such a nice touch! Thanks Youla for a wonderful afternoon!

Group of 7 adults one 4 year old, it was more than a food tour! Our guide Alex was very informative. Food part was amazing the history part was amazing but he went above and beyond by accommodating 2 in our group that did not eat pork also a 4 year old. Also Alex hung out with us conversation was lively by the end he felt like part of the family. Also I absolutely appreciated that he did not leave us until he got us in 2 taxis safe and sound. As a leader of my family traveling I felt relief that Alex was there looking out for us. Thank you Alex again!! God bless you sir!

Great tour guide

Heesu was an amazing guide and I appreciate her spending so much time showing us the best food and teaching us about Korean culture. I would certainly recommend her to others! The tour was ~3+ hours, starting in a market and then passing through a few different neighborhoods and ending in a tea house. More food at every stop than we could finish, and super interesting conversation among the way.
