Poorly planned sunset tour

The daytime portion of this tour was great, although our guide was so soft-spoken that he was often difficult to hear or understand. Not just by me, but others said the same thing. He also had a tendency to walk and talk with most of us trailing behind. Yet, he did give some good information and we did see a nice selection of temples and sites. Pick up in the bus was timely, and the pacing was good. Plenty of water was provided, not just one or two bottles, but multiple bottles. When we return to the bus, the driver always had cold damp cloths for us. They even had umbrellas for shade when we were walking in open spaces. This alone would have warranted probably 4-5 stars. However, one other traveler and I signed up for the sunset tour, while the other travelers evidently just had the daytime tour. The poor planning comes in at this point. We finished the daytime tour about 2:45, at which time our guide intended to drop the two of us off outside of a hill upon which was supposedly a temple, but it was hidden in shrubberies. We were to hang out there for almost 3 hours, walk up the hill, see the sunset, walk back down the hill, and meet at a designated spot where a driver would come back to pick us up. Are you kidding me!!! They expected us to sit for almost 3 hours in the April heat, humidity, in the middle of almost nowhere!? After being told this, I declined the sunset portion and had myself delivered back to my hotel. I have done several tours with TripAdvisor - viator. I have been 100% satisfied with all of them, until this. Highly unprofessional! Very poor planning! And dreadful communication in never expressing any information that this was how the sunset tour operated. I would definitely not recommend this tour, or this company! I went on a temple tour the day before with a different company and it was extremely well orchestrated and planned. Choose a different company/tour!

Absolutely recommend this tour. My guide Sin Peng Eang was amazing. Walked me through all the beautiful temples and laid out all the history behind them and added some humor to help get through the heat. Had a cold water and cold towel ready for me before and after each temple. Incredibly low price for such an outstanding tour!

We had the best experience in Cambodia and thanks to our tour guide Mr. Bun (and Mr Pan). He explained the history of Cambodia and Ankur Wat much better than wiki and school teachers! Chhay was a great guide! He provided lots of interesting historical, cultural and religious information about the temples and Cambodia. He had great recommendations and was committed to everyone getting great photos all day. Despite our best efforts, we couldn't get our temple passes online, but it was really easy to get them in person in the morning. Unlimited water on a hot day is great too!

Confesso que a minha expectativa era muito maior. Os templos são fantásticos, mas a velha história ente expectativa e realidade. Estava muito calor. O tour terminou as 14:00 e não tinha como ficar esperando até as 18:00 para ver o pôr do sol e ainda subir uma colina por 20 minutos debaixo de um calor de 38 graus. O guia até ofereceu para voltar no hotel e nos levar de volta para o por do sol, mas não animamos em voltar.
