Go hungry!

Leo was a great guide and did a nice job of sharing history, culture and amazing food in a short period of time.
Great Tour, Great Food
Todd_G, Mar 2024
The tour was fantastic. Our guide, Andrew, is incredibly knowledgable and a great host. He took us to a number of local Hawker Centers and we were able to try a large assortment of excellent food. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the cuisine of Singapore.
We are the product - to vendors we passed

One of the food stops was quite interesting. Guide spent far too much time pushing various shops to go buy stuff from.
A 'must do"... but NOT a food tour
Deb_S, Feb 2024
Absolutely FABULOUS private tour... but, as other reviewers have said, it is not a food tour. (There was very little food involved.) However, SIMON did a fantastic job of sharing insights into Singapore culture, politics and society. We enjoyed every minute and learned so very much. One of the greatest pleasures of traveling is meeting thoughtful and gracious people with whom we can celebrate the differences -- and the similarities -- of our daily lives. We highly recommend an afternoon with Simon.

Alright, buckle up because I've got some serious beef with Woopa Travels and their supposed "Singapore Private Food and Culture Tour." Let me tell you, it's a hot mess from start to finish -in a bad way. A really bad way. So, you're thinking you're in for a foodie adventure, right? Wrong! Instead of stuffing our faces with delicious eats, we're treated to a super boring history lesson. Seriously, I didn't sign up for lecture after lecture about random buildings. I wanted a gastronomic foodie experience!! And don't even get me started on the so-called "sampling dishes from the four main ethnic groups of Singapore." Yeah, right! We barely got a taste of Chinese and Indian food, let alone anything else. Where were the other cultural goodies?? Talk about false advertising! But wait, there's more disappointment on the menu! Remember when they promised we'd try "9 to 10 local ethnic dishes and drinks?" Well, forget about it! We got slapped with a measly 5 items, including basic coconut juice and some generic "Indian" black iced tea. So cheap! So common! I could've gotten better grub at a gas station. To add insult to the injury, the 5 items we received looked like the cheapest on the menu and were a far cry from delectable. We were SO disappointed!! They just wanted to keep the money we paid!! And let's not forget about our tour guide. She really wanted to save all of the tour money for herself. I can't believe they made us take public buses as transportation, I mean, a taxi only costs about $4-8 and we paid nearly $400 for the two-person private "culinary tour" experience!!! She even tried to make us PAY FOR THE BUS!!! I couldn't believe that!!! She was SO cheap and unprofessional!! In short, this tour is a total dumpster fire, and Woopa Travels should be ashamed of themselves for pulling this crap. Save your cash and skip this disaster of a tour!
cultural immersion & food tour

Eat your way across Singapore!

Walter is the man! Knowledgeable, funny, and thoughtful - Walter catered the visit to our needs and added personal insights and stories that made our tour extra special. This tour was the best part of our trip to Singapore - we’re still talking about the delicious dishes we sampled with Walter. New and exciting flavors, plus we learned about Singapore’s interesting past. We’d highly recommend this tour to everyone - must ask for Walter!
Great cultural experience
Catherine_H, Jan 2024
The cultural aspect of the tour was great. Going where the locals go and using the bus system was a great experience. The food aspect was not so good. We did not taste any meat dishes. However, the deserts and drinks were tasty
A cultural tour with a personal touch

A great tour with a great host. Highly recommended. A great opportunity to learn about the differing cultures that make up Singapore through history and food.
Great way to the city with a local!

Omg! Pam was amazing!!! My partner and I went on this tour about a month ago and I can’t stop thinking about how great it was! She listened to our dietary restrictions and adjusted the food selections based on that. She was kind and taught us so much about the city!
Amazing Food Tour!! Highly Recommend
Leo_S, Oct 2023
We have taken multiple excellent food tours via Viator, and this tour was definitely one of the top!! Our guide Swee Lin was extremely knowledgeable and catered the tour to what we were looking for. She knew so much about the history and culture of every area we visited. You could see the pride that she showed in telling us about her city. Honestly, I can't describe how much she knew, and how interesting she made it. But what did we really come for? The Food!! Needless to say, the food was fantastic. I'm pretty sure most of the food is good at all the hawker stalls, but she made sure she selected the best food based on our preferences. Plus, she was efficient in that she would wait in line for the next course while we were eating so there was little wait time. I could speak to tons of little things she does to make the tour amazing, but just know you will be taken care of. I highly recommend this tour, and Swee Lin as the guide. She goes above and beyond to make this tour amazing.
Delicious & Informative Experience

Raynee did a terrific job of taking us around the city and introducing us to both the culinary and the cultural delights of Singapore. He is definitely a proud son of Singapore, eager to share his enthusiasm and knowledge with visitors.
Very good

It was very educational and fun, but there was toooo much food! With hot and humid weather in Singapore it was hard to eat all this amazing choices
Fabulous good bites

Pamela was fabulous. She explained the history of Singapore as it relates to the ethnic groups and food. We had a very enjoyable time. I would highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys food.
Please read - disappointing and overpriced

Please trust me, read review, and do not book this tour. Coming from someone who has done food tours (from Viator) in 7+ countries. This tour is simply not worth the price. Furthermore, if you go with a significant other, you pay for 2 tickets but have to share the food and even the drinks (we literally got 1 beer included that I had to share with my wife, or pay myself for another) The food in Singapore stands is cheap. You are better off booking an option on Viator for a local guide tour, and then just have him/her make recommendations on top choices, and you pay out of pocket for what you want to try and drink. You will still end up wayyyy less than 200 a ticket. This tour at best should have been $50 per person. The tour tour was kind, but felt like he was just choosing selections based on convenience. We even asked if we could try something specific (which cost $4USD) and he had us pay out of pocket. Please learn from my mistake. Here is what I recommend; 1) hire a viator local guide for the day (significantly less) 2) concert some local currency about $100 USD worth, and you will get wayyyy more food and drink at at least 1/2 the price. The last thing I would add, is while the walking tour we learned a bit, the guide would buy our food, and then walk away while we ate without really explaining what we were even trying. My wife and I paid $200 per person. Total food cost was probably around $40 max for both of us since they had us share. Please take this into account before you spend so much.
Fantastic!

Excellent tour

Excellent tour with Marcus! He was very knowledgeable and we had many interesting conversations about Singapore with him. The food was delicious, just the right amount. Perfect combination of food and history of Singapore. Would definitely recommend.
Interesting and delicious!

Booking a food tour was the best decision I've ever made! I highly recommend booking a tour if it's your first time in Singapore (even if it isn't), as it will not only give you an insight in Singaporean culture, but also introduce you to Singaporean cuisine, if you like us are far away from home and have to idea where to begin exploring so many new things! Our guide Bryan was absolutely incredible! Very knowledgeable, polite, helpful - we asked to try out staples of Singaporean cuisine, and he delivered every step along the way, while also telling us about this beautiful country's history and culture! And he even left us at the end of the tour with a long list of foods that didn't fit into the schedule, but which we could try ourselves (and even recommended where to go!) 🥰 Very good value for money as well, as we got to walk around the entire city - ended with sore feet and full bellies! ♥️
The Food Culture of Singapore
MrThomasW_F, May 2023
Our guide Cecelia took us to the best places to eat that showed us the variety of foods in Singapore. She was very knowledgeable of the history of the people who came and settled Singapore. She has a great personality and is very articulate in English. We had a wonderful time with her.
Fantastic!
Felicia_H, Apr 2023
Pamela was a 5 star tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and well informed. She purchased all the food and transportation based on our liking and food accommodations. After our tour with Pamela we have a new appreciation for Singaporean culture. Highly recommend!!
