What To Expect

It can take more than 40 minutes to board the Night Safari tram, but your skip-the-line admission ticket ensures priority boarding. Start your nighttime safari with hotel pickup, then board the tram to explore 98 acres (40 hectares) of rainforest habitat located next to the Singapore Zoo.

Travel from the Himalayan foothills to the Southeast Asian rainforest, each carefully designed to replicate natural habitats and subtly lit to mimic the moonlight. Search for feline hunters—including Malayan tigers, a Gir lion and a pair of Sri Lankan leopards—as well as other nocturnal creatures such as spotted hyenas, red river hogs and Australian wallabies. Then get up close to more forest animals on a guided safari walking trail.

Dig into the international buffet for dinner at the onsite restaurant. Enjoy the tropical ambiance of burnished wooden beams and rustic rattan fans, or dine al fresco to a symphony of cicadas, frogs and other night creatures while a herd of Ankole cattle grazes nearby.

One of two stage performances is included with your admission (see below). Afterward, the coach returns you to your hotel.

Thumbuakar Performance: This Night Safari fire show includes a lively display of cultural dance moves from a crowd-pleasing troop of Thumbuakar warriors. Heat up your night with amazing fire-eating skills, flame-throwing demonstrations, and breathtaking stunts!

Creatures of the Night Show: This animal extravaganza brings you right into the heart of the rainforest. This highly interactive show demonstrates the unique behaviors and skills of nocturnal creatures like the otter, binturong, civet and more. Be amazed by the powerful jaws of a spotted hyena and cheer on the African serval as it shows off its ability to leap for prey.

Great Fun

Singapore Night safari and dinner. A wonderful time was had by us as we cruised quietly through the enclosures of the zoo. An enjoyable and delicious meal was provided buffet style which ended with two guys with firesticks putting on a great show. All in all a fabulous night out.

Good but need more time

The pick up was prompt and driver was informative of next steps . Went to a central point in a hotel where we were given badges and groups for dining or non dining guests. I was in purple dining group - small about 6 people in total. The guides were ok - English was not fluent and they both could have given a bit more informative information. Maybe give a guide leaflet out on coach and plan tour night before you get there. The trip need extended by at least 40mins to catch the show and do the trails and see the shop the 10pm prompt pick up is too early - it’s an experience that’s fab but some of the older guests could not walk to the pace required to do the long walk plus the tram plus the show. The food in the package was buffet and absolutely fine lots of choice. It was good night but needs to be longer by 30mins earlier for food as it’s still light then 30mins to do the show and shop then get to coach - so defo a 5.30pm hotel pick up required and better info / guides to be given before you arrive so you can PLAN your night

The whole night was very rushed. 15 mins to enjoy the buffet. The tram ride seeing the animals was excellent. Had no time at the end to look around or buy souvenirs. Very Disappointing.

Dinner buffet was decent with selections from many cultures, but limited withing the culture. I don't like the hotel pickup system because you end up going to a collection point and then put on a different bus. Same thing with the return to the hotel. Animal viewing was pretty good with very few animals not visible.

The Night Safari was a unique experience! This proved to be an opportunity to view the animals when they were at rest in the twilight of the evening. We got a chance to see the animals close up and you almost felt like you were intruding on their space. It was an exciting and pleasant evening.

Disappointing dinner and tour

The food provided was cold, unappealing and tasteless. We were picked up at our hotel, taken to another hotel, put on a bus to the safari and rushed through the exhibits. Our guide was knowledgeable but kept leaving us . Overall if you want to see the animals I would go on my own with a taxi

A wonderful activity in the jungle. Shame the buffet dinner didn’t have more vegetable options. The animals looked like they were very well cared for in natural environments.

Great buffet, but the safari itself was disappointing

First of all, the buffet was excellent!!! It was a huge buffet with lots of variety; a little bit of everything. However, it goes without saying that our whole purpose for being there was for the safari, and that was pretty disappointing. We didn't think there were very many animals, and those that were there were very difficult to see. It was virtually impossible to take photographs. I can understand why flash photography wasn't allowed, but I guess I just expected for the lighting to be better. It was so hard to see anything, and we felt like we spent a lot of money bu didn't see very much. Likewise, we have no pictures for memories. The Creatures of the Night show was a joke. It had absolutely nothing to do with any creatures of the night, and it should really be renamed to something like "Environmental Awareness". It was a strange show, and between that and the "safari", we found the whole experience kinda boring and not worth what we paid for it. Since this was the tour we were looking forward to the most, it was certainly disappointing.

Thank you for your kind comments on the Night Safari tour with dinner. The buffet is Asian themed and served at the Ulu Ulu restaurant, usually popular with visitors so am glad that you had enjoyed the selection of food. Overall we are glad it was a good night out for you.

The hotel pick up was OK but then we had to change buses. The return bus was very confusing and guide difficult to understand. The bus took us back to the wrong hotel and we had to get a taxi for $15. The buffet dinner was poor with very luke warm food. The choice was not good and drinks expensive. The safari was as expected but not so exhilarating.

Zoo is wonderful. All ages really enjoyed it. Going on the trails after the tram was a highlight. Tram was fun. Food was pretty good. Tour was well organized.

A great night out. Everything ran on time. Natalie our guide was friendly and very informative. Dinner was delicious. Lots of choice and our young grandson loved it. Tram ride was fun, also walks and show.

I was advised not to go on this tour as it was a waste of time. I agree. Besides Dinner, which was okay to good, the tram ride was not. It was nice to ride through the dark and look in at empty brightly lit areas, but hardly any animals seen. Why? Most of the animals are not nocturnal by nature and even though their habitats were brightly lit, no show. No complaints on tour guide nor was it the tour operator's fault. Nature is nature. The place was very crowded as well, so getting a spot to see the fire-dance/show was impossible.

The night safari was very interesting and an unique experience. The dinner buffet was also very good. The local tour operator was nice but spoke with a heavy accent so we could not always understand her. However, her role was limited for this tour so no big deal. Well worth the time and money.

Very enjoyable and well organised until something went badly wrong with transport arrangements for the return. The buffet meal at the Zoo was excellent, and if you stop wondering why all the animals are posing carefully as you go round on the tram its a fascinating trip. Would recommend.
