What To Expect
Make your own way to the meeting point in Vancouver’s Gastown neighborhood. Meet your guide and group and hit the streets of Gastown.
While your guide provides background information about local history and Vancouver’s culinary heritage, make your way to several local businesses for samples of their signature dishes and a few beverages (a non-alcohol option is always available). Possible dishes include Japanese *karage* chicken, freshly made Sicilian tortellini with local wine, traditional Canadian poutine, decadent waffles, and locally made craft beer.
Finally, with a belly full of delicious eats, your tour ends a few minutes’ walk from the meeting point.

- Tour is approx 2:45-3 hours long and covers approx. 5 blocks. 5 of the stops are sit down. Tour is on a schedule, although slower paced as tour guides stop during tour to show interesting points of interest in the neighbourhood.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
- Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Q:How much food is served on the tours?
A:We make several stops for food and beverage tastings on our tours. The exact number depends on which tour you are taking. For most people, there is enough food and beverage tastings that they feel they had a full meal. You should come hungry!

Q:How much walking is involved?
A:The tours are 2.5 hours in length but we sit down at a few venues on each tour. We walk at a very casual pace and the tour runs for 6-8 city blocks. The streets are flat and easy to walk. We like to think of it as a leisurely stroll with food and interesting conversations and stories.

Q:What if I have food allergies or special dietary restrictions?
A:We offer vegetarian and gluten-free options on our tours. Any special requests must be made 24 hrs before your tour date. Please note that our tour tastings may include dairy, eggs, nuts and other allergens. We cannot take responsibility for any allergic reactions. If you have dietary restrictions that limit you from eating certain foods please contact us prior to booking a tour.

A:Yes, 3 alcoholic drink tastings are included.Wine/beer. We offer non alcoholic options.
Alcohol can only be served to tour guests over 19 years of age (As per BC Liquor Law). Tour guides may ask for ID.

A:There is a maximum of 16 people per tour and we require a minimum of 4 guests for a tour to operate.

A:No. Our guides do appreciate gratuities. They are enthusiastic storytellers and work hard to insure you have an amazing experience. A standard gratuity for a professional tour guide in Vancouver is 15-20%.

A:We can refund or reschedule your tour date with 24 hours advance notice.

Very good! Informative historical information about the area and a friendly and knowledgeable and professional guide, Kate. A very fun way to get to know the Gastown area and some of the dining hot spots. We definitely visited places we would have never found in our own. We definitely had our fill of food and drink.

A good sampling of food and some historical context of Gastown. There are lots of good food places to choose from and this is a good mix. Well timed. It was not rushed and it didn’t linger too long at any location.
