It’s easy to hop a morning ferry and cross the Hauraki Gulf for the short ride to the island. Catch the 9AM ferry from Auckland, purchase tickets online or at the booth . Line up by 8:20 am to join the line for boarding. For the walk-on ferry you will be boarded by your place in the line, so be there early! The meeting point on Waiheke is the I-SITE in booth inside the terminal building .

The 3 different wineries were a great way to see the history of wine making on the island. Luca was a great tour guide and provided us with a great tour. Each winery was different. The first one had a great Spanish flare to it (casita miro). The second one as an example of a new winery (postcard). The last one was an example of a large, still family owned, winery (Mudbrick). Now that I have done the tour, I would have ask to be left at mudbrick go to jurassic next door get a glass, walk to the village grab a meal then walk to the ferry by 6 pm. There is ample time to do that and it would be a great way to end the day.

Highly recommend this wine tasting tour on Waiheke Island! Glenn was fabulous! He is so passionate about showing visitors the island and making sure they have a great tasting day! We enjoyed the small intimate nature of this tour as well. During the third winery visit, Glenn offered to make lunch reservations at the local restaurants for anyone that wanted. He dropped us off in one of the towns for lunch and then came back to pick us up and drop us off at the ferry which was a huge plus. Thank you Glenn!

This was a beautiful, fun tour. Our guide, Glenn, was both informative and entertaining. The vineyards are gorgeous and the wine delicious. We had a wonderful lunch in the cute town of Oneroa. We highly recommend this tour, with Glenn.

This was our first trip to Waiheke and did not know what to expect . Lucas our guide was punctual, friendly, and accommodating. The winery selections were well planned and the wines were fantastic. We were given time to lunch and shop in Oneroa. We highly recommend this tour.

Great way to hop around wineries

The wineries we visited were lovely and each one was ready for us when we arrived making it a seamless and fast way to see multiple spots. Guide was informative and showed us some views around the island to kick off the morning.

We are talking about tiny vineyards that produce small amounts of wine, the idea of this tour is to taste some great local wine, The vinerads cant afford to just give wine away, i thinks your comments are highly unfair and unreasonable

Michael was a great guide and we loved two of the three wineries we tried (the third was fine, just no special. Casita Miro and Mudbrick were amazing. Wonderful day on beautiful Waiheke Island.

We took the ferry from Auckland to Waiheke and met our tour guide at the terminal in Waiheke. It’s not too large and after asking several other drivers, we finally found ours. We had 10 people on our tour which was a nice size. Our driver gave us narration of the island while we went from winery to winery. Lots of scenery and we did get out at one point for a nice view. We visited 3 wineries: Casa Miro (our favorite!), Batch, and Postage Stamp. Batch was just ok and more of a production facility, so I think that one should be skipped or have guests be in a nicer area and not in a “garage.” Compared to the other two, Batch was not impressive and was so loud, you could not hear the explanations of the wines. Casa Miro was an absolute delight and was our favorite. We felt like we were in Barcelona! The focaccia bread and oils were wonderful and we bought both! Postage Stamp had our favorite wine, however, a lovely Montepulciano! We took some home! Our driver recommended a few restaurants but we all decided to stick together and be dropped at Oyster Inn for lunch. Wow!! The oysters were amazing as was the fish and chips. Waiheke Island oysters were special but Bay of Islands were even better! We highly recommend this tour.

ive checked and you were not on our tour ? as we only have premium wines, i had a wine professor on a tour recently and raved about the wine, read all the other comments, where did you have lunch? we dont book lunch on my tour, you are free to eat anywhere so whats that got to do with my wine tour !

Visiting Waiheke Island was on our list of things to do while visiting New Zealand! We booked this premium wine tour and it was the best thing we could’ve done! It is a wonderful way to see and learn about the history of Waiheke island as well as we went to three terrific wineries! Our tour guide was Glenn, and he was extremely knowledgeable about the island, very personable and downright hilarious! We recommend this as a must do, and you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I absolutely LOVED this tour with Glen! Glen took the time not only to take us to great wineries but also gave us information on the island and great spots to stop and take pictures. He also let us pick where we wanted to go to lunch and gave wonderful recommendations. Glen has a great sense of humor and had us all laughing the whole tour. 10/10 highly recommend this tour!
