I took my 2 granddaughters (13 & 8) who had never snorkeled before. This tour was perfect for beginners. Our 2 tour guides (forgot names) explained everything and were great teachers…even as a review for me. The equipment was up to date and much better than other snorkel tours I had been on in years past.

Blue Heron Snorkeling Trail

We went snorkeling at the Blue Heron bridge on a family vacation. There were 4 of us and we had all been snorkeling before so we were not brand new. Our tour guide, Filipe was waiting in the van when we arrived and provided fins, masks/snorkels and long sleeve swim jackets. He provided a brief lesson anyway and was informative and helpful the entire time. He gave additional instructions when needed and helped coordinate photo and video shoots. He was like Aquaman out there, finding all the best spots and creatures and he could hold his breath for about an hour while helping to film at the boat and Hammer Head Shark statue. He even stayed out for a little while longer until we were able to find the starfish! 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

Great Beginner Snorkel Experience

No Snorkeling

We were to meet at under the bridge at Phil Foster Park at 10:30 am. There was no place to park and the tour operator was not there. We called the tour operator who was not on site yet insisted there was parking available. We left the park at 11:00 without seeing the tour operator. I requested a refund and the tour operator refused.

Good for novice swimmers but not so great for the experienced

Our guide Filipe was nice and friendly. My wife and I are novice swimmers so we were afraid to snorkel freely on our own. Filipe let us hold on to the floating ring and he stayed with us all the time and checked with us every now and then that we are doing ok. But we removed one star because the location that was chosen was not great and we did not see much sea life other than 3-4 puffer fish and one string ray. My kids said they saw one jelly fish and that's it. Take away the time for preparation and instructions, the duration of the actual snokeling activity was probably max 30 minutes which we felt is really short. So this is a good choice for those who are novice swimmers and new to snorkeling. But if you are good swimmer or have done snorkeling earlier, I think there are better choices.
