Travel into the Yosemite Valley through the Southgate, then spend the day viewing and photographing some of the valley's best features such as Bridalveil Falls, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls and Yosemite’s high country. Hike down the 4-Mile Trail (during the spring to fall) or choose to remain on the bus. Lunch will be provided and can be eaten along the trail. National Park entrance fees included.

What To Expect

Begin your day's exploration of Yosemite National Park with pickup in Fresno, Oakhurst, or Fish Camp. Board your comfortable tour vehicle and settle in for the ride to Yosemite's Southgate entrance.

Make your first stop at Glacier Point and Chinquapin, a scenic overlook that provides sweeping views of the Yosemite High Country, Yosemite Falls, Half Dome and the Yosemite Valley. Embark on a short walk to get a more photo-worthy views of the Merced River, Ahwahnee Lodge, Curry Village, Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls.

Those keen on hiking can take the option to trek down the 4-Mile Trail here, which ends on Southside Drive. Continue across the Swinging Bridge (or take a shuttle) to meet back with your tour group at the Yosemite Lodge.

Passengers who wish to remain on the bus will visit the Tunnel View to view Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, Sentinel Bridge, El Capitan and Bridalveil Falls. Stop for a lunch break and walk to Yosemite Falls.

Hang out in the meadows in front of El Capitan to watch the gravity-defying rock climbers, then drive along the Merced River to see the John Muir and President Roosevelt campsites. See the historic Wawona Hotel and explore the Pioneer Village History Center before heading back to Fresno or Oakhurst for drop-off.

Glacier Point is usually closed during winter from November to April. Any of the tour highlights may be closed due to weather or construction. We will do our best to show alternative sites.

I need a refund for this trip. They cancelled my trip because they don’t have enough people . This trip is not completed. This was cancelled by them with a promise of full refund. I don’t hear anything from them yet.

We were instructed to wait in the lobby. Our guide Daniel didn’t look for us unlike other tour guides that were asking if we signed up for a tour. We had to approach him and ask if he was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and attended to what we wanted to see. He was a wonderful photographer and knew where to get good photos. Too bad that 2 spots were closed which we were aware of. It would have been nice to have a different day trip for the winter season/winter itinerary.

Pros - We did not have to drive . The tour guide Julie was very knowledgeable and nice as she was born and raised in the area. Lunch was good. Cons- we stayed Oakhurst because the entrance was close to Yosmites. Yet we took 21/2 just getting to Yosmite. We had to pick up a single women in a lodge out of the way. The van was extremely outdated . Their were 11 passengers in the most tight seats ever. Being claustrophobic was not on my side so rather then sitting next to my husband I sat on a bumper seat next to a couple . 1/2 my butt balanced me half kept me from falling . It was like sardines packed ( guest stated we were a circus act) passengers arrived with large suitcases so we didn’t even have room to put backpacks in trunks. 10 hours of squishyness. The women next to my husband sat practically on his lap to peer through the fogged windows due to the rain ! On the way back the tour guide was told she needed us to be back by 4:30 for a guest to connect for their travel plans so what took us 21/2 to get to Yosmites now felt like an hour due to the speed necessary to get back to Oakhurst. We watched a company pick up guest from our hotel in modern large window van called DISCOVER Yosemite and regret not booking a tour with them or a private tour. Perhaps when registering for a tour like this it should have height/ weight info as well as warnings about NOT wearing cologne or aftershave as you will be sitting practically on top of another guest

Thank you for your review. We travel in smaller vehicles so we are able to stop at more places and not the larger buses which can stop at limited places. It says in our tour we either go from mountain view or the river view which is few minutes longer to reach the valley not 2.5 hours extra also you drive alongside the beautiful merced river which is also designated as scenic highway of California.

He made the this a trip to remember and even offered to bring our group to the Mariposa Grove so I would have the opportunity to see the Sequoia trees while I’m in California.
