Can’r missed it!

An easy way to explore other parts of Switzerland, though it was raining from Zurich to both places, still very fun esp. during rain breaks. Wore warmly and good thing brought an umbrella.
Amazing daytrip

The view of the Swiss Alps was spectacular! The opportunity to spend time just relaxing and enjoying an excellent lunch was greatly appreciated!
Definitely recommend!

Bus driver was kind and gave a good audio tour. Explained the itenirary for the day well. We just did one activity in Interlaken, but you would definitely have time to do an activity in Interlaken & Grindelwald if you plan it right! Giftshops everywhere
Incredible Views!

Partially guided means you pay for the coach there and back, a train ticket back to Interlaken from Grindelwald and the rest is up to you (they do give you a leaflet to help)! Once in Grindelwald I did the cable car to the top of Mt First for 60CHF - views were unbelievable highly recommend!! Our guide Konrad and the team were great! Knowledgeable and happy to help assist if you’re not 100% sure what to do. Konrad is fluent in English, German, Spanish and Italian so he was a great help to all of the guests on board.
Nice day trip

I had a solo weekend available in between business trips, so I signed up for this tour to see more of Switzerland. As others mentioned, it is partially guided which I found to be a good balancing of learning about the area and having some personal time to explore. Both Grindelwald and Interlaken are beautiful places to explore. It was near freezing with on and off rain, so I spent the free time walking around and checking out the cafes, restaurants, and shops rather than hiking but in nicer weather this would have been a good option as well. Neither place is particularly large so there is enough time to check out both. The trip was well organized and on time, and the guides were very nice and helpful.
Very bad experience!
jkasmu, Apr 2024
The weather was forecast to be bad and it was! We had rain and cold temperatures. We spent the day trying to stay dry and ended up spending the last hours in a public building out of the r@in. The bus back to Zurich was 20 minutes late picking us up, and when you are wet and cold that is a long time. The response from the guide who was on the bus… “not so cold here, I just have a shirt on?????” I would recommend that when forecast is for bad weather, you cancel this excursion.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Jkasmu, Thank you for joining our partly guided tour to Grindelwald & Interlaken and sharing this feedback with us. We deeply regret to read that the rainy weather impacted your overall tour experience. The actual weather conditions with rainy days, are quite common in Switzerland, particularly during the spring season. Thus, we run all our tours regardless of the weather. Also, most of our guests have limited time to explore the country and would be disappointed if they missed the opportunity to discover these wonderful alpine regions only because of rain. The positive aspect is that there are multiple shops in both villages where guests can purchase umbrellas or warm clothing, in case these items are not already provided by the hotel, allowing them to make the most of their visit despite the weather. Moreover, our cancellation policy offers guests the flexibility to cancel or modify their bookings free of charge up to 24 hours prior to departure. This allows them to review the weather forecast before the tour and make any necessary adjustments to their plans if they wish. The bus that brings our guests in Interlaken back to Lucerne/Zurich comes from Lauterbrunnen after picking up the guests that joined the tour to Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe. Unfortunately, the traffic situation caused some delay, and regret to hear that the waiting time was extended to 20 minutes. We hope that you still had a great stay in Switzerland and to welcome on tour another time (hopefully on a sunny day). Best regards Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours
Make sure to experience this

This day trip with the highlight of our week stay in Switzerland. My wife and I cannot say enough good things about it. The Alps are just breathtaking, and Grindelwald and Interlaken are beautiful towns to visit. We plan on doing this again on our next trip to Switzerland next year!!

Beautiful Swiss Villages
Marisol_D, Mar 2024
The trip was very pleasant. My friend and I went to the top of the mountain in Grindelwald via cable car and it was breathtaking. The only issue I had was that the guide was not clear on where the pickup location was once we arrived at Interlaken to go back to Zurich. The flyer that was handed out stated a location and that was not where the pickup was. Although we were there 45 minutes early we almost didn't make the bus to go back. That was stressful.
Enjoyable day trip
Neil_S, Mar 2024
A well guided tour with plenty of useful information. I would recommend that anybody doing the tour takes advantage of the optional extra to go up Grunwald First. I wasn't sure why it was necessary to visit Interlaken twice though on the tour
Amazing but a slight issue
Ellie_D, Mar 2024
Overall I really enjoyed this trip. It was the perfect amount of time and the views were stunning. I did have a problem with the tour company though that did put a slight damper on the day. After the first stop in Interlaken we were forced to change tour buses to a different bus that was already full. I had to sit with a family I didn’t even know and was separated from the person I was travelling with for the bus ride to Grindelwald. They told us it was because this bus would give us more time but it’s just because the other tour guide didn’t want to have to take the extra minutes to drop us off. They had three different tours all mixed together which I think was poor planning. Overall I loved the rest of it but I think the company should do a better job planning out who’s on what bus and have a tour guide for this specific tour instead of throwing three tours together.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Ellie, Thank you very much for taking the time to share this feedback regarding your recent experience on our Grindelwald & Interlaken tour. We highly appreciate your feedback as it helps us to constantly improve our services and to ensure our tours meet the high-quality standards we strive for. We deeply regret to hear about the inconvenience you experienced being separated from your companion for the ride between Interlaken and Grindelwald. It is correct that occasionally, we have guests from two different tours traveling together for both ecological and economic reasons. The merging of groups allows us to offer not only tours to well-known destinations such as Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe, but also to smaller, equally fascinating places with fewer guests such as your chosen destination. On the day of your tour, we had one bus fully dedicated to Grindelwald & Interlaken guests and a second one for Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe. The first bus was already fully booked while we still had capacity in the second bus. For this reason, the additional bookings, including yours, were allocated to that bus. The decision to transfer you to the other bus was made with the sole intention of ensuring you had even more time to enjoy your destination. We sincerely apologize if this adjustment caused you any inconvenience or distress. We are happy to read that you enjoyed the time in the villages and hope to welcome you again on your next visit to Switzerland. Thank you again for helping us improve our services with your feedback. Best regards, Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours
Lots of fun, don’t leave anything on the bus
Nestor_S, Feb 2024
We were very happy to be able to visit Grindelwald, as it was very beautiful in February. The weather was chilly, however, that is coming from a Floridian. We weren’t very interested in Interlaken- there are some pretty views there, however, that town is really meant for shoppers, and I mean, big money, shoppers. If you like to shop, by all means, spend your time there. Everything was so expensive that all we did was look. When we got to Grindelwald, there were quite a few shops as well, however, more of them were souvenir shops. The views that you can get, there are phenomenal, however, be sure to check the weather before you book. The day that we went, was pretty cloudy so we could only take the cable car up to Bort, because if we went any higher, we would’ve paid for tickets to not see anything due to only 10 feet visibility. We really did enjoy the walk. The scenery and the food was great with a beautiful view. We definitely recommend eating at a restaurant that faces the Alps. The only other recommendation I would have is to take all of your items off of the tour bus. The tour guide told us that if we wanted to save the seats that we sat in on the way to our day trip cities, then we should put something that belong to us in those seats to secure them. Obviously, we didn’t leave anything Valuable, but we did leave a couple of items. When we got back on the tour bus, other people had moved our items and thrown them onto other seats the tour guide said, or suggested that he wasn’t going to be able to do anything about it, which is understandable, and we weren’t looking for an argument, but I figured we should bring that up as he really should never have told us to leave anything because people are not going to respect your items. Other than that, the tour guide was helpful and give us some great recommendations to eat where to go things to do and the day trip was a memorable experience for us.
The best tour destination

The tour's well organized. Don't miss the cable car trip to first mountain in Grindelwald. It's really impressive.
Self guided tour
Eric_N, Feb 2024
It’s basically a self guided tour. You go to Interlaken for an hour. You go back on the bus. Then get dropped off in Grindelwald, are given train tickets and told to meet back in Interlaken to be bused back to Zurich.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Dear Eric, Thank you very much for joining our Grindelwald & Interlaken tour and sharing your experience with us. We are very sorry to hear that our tour logistics did not live up to your expectations. As stated in the tour description in Viator, this is a partly guided tour. This means, our guests are accompanied by the tour guide during the ride from Zurich to Grindelwald and from Interlaken back to the departure point. Partly guided tours are ideal for those who prefer exploring destinations with more flexibility and freedom without having to follow a certain schedule. The time in between is available for the guests to explore the villages at their own pace with the help of an informative booklet with recommendations on what to do/see in the villages and details about the meeting point. Furthermore, each guest receives a train ticket, allowing them to travel from Grindelwald to Interlaken in the afternoon to join the guide for the return journey. Naturally, the tour guide remains approachable for any questions or if further suggestions are needed. For future occasions, we recommend joining our tour to Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe for a fully guided experience. Again, we are sorry to hear that the experience did not live up to your expectations and hope that you were still able to enjoy a wonderful stay in Switzerland. Best regards, Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours
Great experience

The view was amazing. The tour company was able to put me and my family in the same bus together which we really appreciated.
