When to Get There

Arrive at 8am to watch as the flower “blooms,” or at sunset when the petals change colors with the setting sun and close up as darkness sets in. Floralis Generica An Art Masterpiece

Designed by Argentine architect Eduardo Catalano and erected in 2002, the Floralis Generica was envisioned as an homage to his home city. Standing an impressive 66 feet (20 meters) high and measuring 105 feet (32 meters) wide, the flower sculpture has a striking mirrored finish that dazzles under the sun and glows red in the evening hours. Hydraulics are used to open and close its petals like a real flower.
