While tour buses may flock to neighboring Milford Sound, the wild landscapes of Doubtful Sound are equally enchanting and much less crowded. Framed by looming cliffs and dotted with rocky islets and tumbling waterfalls, this natural fjord is three times longer and has 10 times more surface area than Milford Sound. It is also centrally located at the heart of Fiordland National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Excellent trip and guides
Brad, our driver & guide on the way to Doubtful Sound, provided so much interesting background on the area and its history! And the Lake and Sound trips were extraordinary!

The best thing we did in Queenstown
Paulie was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide. Every part of the tour was outstanding. The cruise on Doubtful Sound itself is every bit as good as Milford, if not better. We would definitely recommend going on both.

Sound of Silence
We loved the misty waterfall views, and the informative commentary. The best part was the “Sound of Silence.”

The magic of rain and waterfalls
Started the tour in rain, regretting that we booked this tour and could not cancel. Out way nothing special though the photos in fog were not bad. On the way back, however, like magic, waterfalls appeared everywhere. Hundreds of them, everywhere.
