The museum’s opening hours are Wednesdays through Sundays from 10am to 6pm. The museum is closed for New Year’s Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Also part of the museum is the Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design. Housed in the former home of heiress and philanthropist Doris Duke, the museum houses a collection of Islamic treasures, including Iranian tiles, Indian jewelry, and a wood-paneled room from Damascus, and offers fantastic views of Lēʻahi Head.
