Wonderful Experience
Our guide Alexander was very knowledgeable on the history of Panama. It was nice touring with someone that knows just about everyone in the area. He showed us famous buildings and locations that tie into the history of Panama. You can tell that he really loves and is passionate about what he does. I would absolutely recommend anyone take this tour. Especially at the beginning of your trip so you can visit new areas and get some restaurant/bar recommendations. Alexander was amazing! 10/10! I will be back.

How to Get There

While the Casco Viejo is well into the process of gentrification, surrounding neighborhoods are not. It’s a good idea to take a taxi, even during the day, or visit the neighborhood as part of a guided tour.

When to Get There

It’s best to visit the neighborhood during the daytime when the majority of its attractions, restaurants, cafés, and shops are open. Some of the city’s top chefs have restaurants in the area—perfect for a dinner date—but this area tends to quiet down early.
